It was decent food, service was good! Food was hot temperature wise. The chicken tortillas soup was amazing! It was a star! & churros were great too.
Baja fish taco was tasty. Parking was plenty outside. Party of 8 or more will be added 18% gratituty. The mangonada was the best drink followed by pomegranate margaritas.

We had a nice dinner at La Catrina, it was our first time here. I had chicken mole, my husband had chile rellenos, and our daughter had posole verde. The mole was very good, a bit spicier than I’m used to. The chicken was a breast. My husband said the chile rellenos was good too. It wasn’t too eggy. The poodle verde was quite spicy for our daughter, she doesn’t tend to eat very spicy food. However, the flavor was great with a lot of fresh lime. I know that we’ll be back.

Not sure how this place has 5-star reviews. We came because of the ratings, but it was honestly the worst Mexican food I’ve had. I ordered the mole plate and my wife got the enmoladas both were bad. The mole tasted like plain chicken with a store bought sauce, and the black beans were completely watered down and flavorless. What made no sense is that our dishes tasted different even though they’re supposedly the same mole.

The only positives were the great service, warm chips and salsa, and the beans charros with chorizo they were actually really good. Other than that, we won’t be coming back.

While visiting Hollister’s nearby areas, we decided to have lunch at this place. The place had indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside even though there was place inside.
The outdoor seating has a nice ambiance. They got us chips and salsa right away. Being vegetarian we inquired about the best options and settled on Tacos and quesadillas. Both came with guac, pico de Gallo. The Tacos also came with corn ( you could choose corn or beans). The food was nice. We also ordered lemonade which didn’t tasted fresh. Overall the experience was nice .The servers were pleasant and helpful in suggesting based on our dietary restrictions.

Food was not it today. I don’t know if this is what it’s just like or if they had an off day. Our 1st time here and the battered shrimp tacos were not worth it in my opinion. The mayo they use is too overpowering flavor wise. Did not enjoy the corn on the cob I ordered as well, a generous amount of mayo. My husband got the shrimp Fajitas and they did not look appetizing at all. They looked bland and not something worth the $25 price tag, flavor was not there as well. Now we know. Service was also lacking a bit, they were not busy when we got there but everything took way longer than normal in any other sit down restaurants.

Here visiting from South Carolina. Ordered the special ‘Carne en su Jugo’ for an early dinner. This was awesome for an authentic Mexican soup. The flavors were great and the steak in the soup was very tender. I would highly recommend this place for a nice dinner. By the way, the traditional Margarita was strong but had a good flavor. I will be back for sure with my mother-in-law. Thank you for a great meal.

Excellent food! Try the Chile Verde!

Update: Their drinks are way over priced.

I ordered a screwdriver. Simple right?

Price= $14
Titos vodka substitute. (Apparently they think this is a premium)
$5.00
Double =$9.00
So yes a $25 cocktail.

Wow.

Two orders of steak were requested as medium, but one turned out to be medium well and the other completely overcooked and hard.
The other two dishes we had were really yummy though 🙂
