My friends and I visited the restaurant/lounge on Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. We arrived after 10 p.m. and went straight to the lounge. Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, the experience started off poorly.

At the entrance, there was a female and male security guard. The female guard immediately had an attitude—using exaggerated hand gestures as if she couldn’t speak instead of simply asking for my ID. When she finally spoke, she rudely told me she needed to check my purse. There was no professionalism or courtesy.

After passing security, we stopped briefly to take photos by the beautiful wall near the entrance. My friend had never been there before, and I had recommended the place. Instead of letting us enjoy the moment, the same guard gave us attitude again just for taking pictures.

Upstairs in the lounge, we were seated and greeted by a waitress who was initially pleasant, but the service quickly went downhill. She was on her phone most of the time and seemed irritated whenever we needed assistance. We actually had to ask a different waiter to let her know we wanted to order more and continue spending money. It felt like she didn’t care at all—possibly because gratuity was already included.

To make matters worse, one of the female security guards in the lounge pushed a guest who accidentally bumped into her while dancing. The place was packed, and that kind of behavior was completely unnecessary and unprofessional.

The only highlight of the night was the music—the DJs did an excellent job and kept the dance floor full all night.

Overall, I was extremely disappointed. Management really needs to address the behavior of employees who clearly don’t want to deal with customers. The venue has so much potential, but the rude staff completely ruined the experience.

Headed there to check out bachata dancing on a Tuesday night. “Alert” for the ladies there were tons of a guys looking for dance partner, so I decided to skip the dancing and have three tacos instead. The special was $3 per taco, but they automatically include the tip so the total price was $11 and some change. I ordered the barbecoa (rich and tasty), Al pastor (moist and tender topped with chopped pineapple), and the carnitas (which was a little too dry for me). All were topped with diced onions and cilantro. The tacos were served with two sauces a mild and spicy one but did not include radishes or jalapeños. They were set atop what tasted like fresh tortillas unfortunately the tortillas were cold and not heated. Overall two out of the three were a treat, the other one not so much.

We had a large group of about 15 people, but unfortunately to serve it took 30+ mins for food and drinks and unfortunately they charged us for a drink that was given to someone without checking their ID and then took instead of letting the adults know and still charged us for it! They were willing to lose a group for one drink. customer service is subpar…. update: we went to the lounge and they wouldn’t let us sit in a booth and spend a combined amount of two hundred plus only if we bought a bottle and to sit in the regular tables you have to pay $100. Mind you it is a small place not a huge club. We left asap.

We had our 45th HS reunion at La Catrina last night. We were so busy mingling that I can’t vouch for the food – but it is an excellent venue for something like that. They were easy to work with. The space is big and open, with just the right number of tables and seats. Great lighting; they even had lights pointing up the walls in our school colors. Just-right decor, and they let us hang some posters and balloons. A dance floor, stage, film screen and very nice DJ. A big bar. Really perfect for what we needed. We had just under 50 of us and it could’ve comfortably handled 3x that. But do be ready to leave by the cut-off time (I think 11) bc they crank the tunes way up and all the young folk start pouring in!

I went here a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the food! it was great. Unfortunately, the experience took a bad turn. It was my sister’s birthday, and she ended up being pepper-sprayed by a short security guard. Because of that incident, I would not recommend the nightlife here.

Prices are decent, food is delicious, atmosphere is great, and service is wonderful! The staff is always pleasant and helpful. Their vegetarian/vegan selection isn’t great, but at least they have some options. Would recommend.

I went for my birthday on 8/18 and went back the next night 8/19. The first night we had Miguel and Tatiana as our host and server. The second night we had Fernando.Even the manger recognized we were there two nights in a row. All the servers we awesome in my opinion. The food and drinks were a 10/10 in my opinion. My hubby had the whole rock fish on night #1 I had the special salmon, scallops, and shrimp wrapped in bacon. I don’t eat pork, so I unrolled the bacon off of my shrimp and went in! The second night I had enchiladas with green sauce, rice and beans. My husband had carne asada with mushrooms, esquite, rice and beans. Cocktails I would recommend Jarrito, Pineapple and Coconut Margarita. The salsa and chips are so fresh! So fresh I ordered a container of salsa to take home. The staff was very attentive to my food allergies and made sure no eggs or nuts where in my food. The birthday cake was good as well. Prices for us were reasonable, I don’t know folks financial situation, but the prices were decent. Friday they have mariachi band, and Saturday at 10pm it turns into aclub scene. I don’t speak Spanish but I was definitely vibing to the reggae tone beats. If you are in Bethesda, MD check them out.

Great band. Nice b-day celebration with great drinks, food and show. There’s a club upstairs to get your dance on if you want to. The Tres Leche was delicious and carne asada was seasoned perfectly!
