La Casita in Crystal River is a true hidden gem. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The food is packed with authentic flavor — fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care.
Everything we tried was excellent, from the entrees to the sides, and the portions were generous without sacrificing quality. You can really tell this is a place that takes pride in what they serve. If you’re looking for great Mexican food with amazing flavor and genuine hospitality, La Casita is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This is a truly authentic Mexican restaurant, right down to the decor and the music. I ordered a two enchilada plate, one chicken and one cheese, and had them double the rice because I don’t like refried beans. The chips and salsa were excellent. The salad is made daily, so it differs a little bit day to day. That’s the way it should be! I had a pineapple- jalapeño margarita, which was excellent. My waitress was very friendly and stopped often to be sure I was ok. Overall, I’d give this 5 stars. I’ll be back!

Our manatee tour guide from Nature’s Discovery recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint. I got the Quesabirria and it was DELICIOUS – generous portions, great consommé for dipping, excellent salsa, and friendly service. If I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular. 🙂

The restaurant is not colorful like some of the chain restaurants, but the flavor of the food makes up for it. I had the burrito hot plate. Just enough heat and flavor. I would recommend LA Casita if your looking for the real deal.

This is my husband and I’s new favorite Mexican restaurant. I got the taco’s la casita and he got the Plato Guadalajara. Both were flavorful, hot and fresh. The house salsa had a perfect kick too. Not too hot or mild. My husband also praised his chile relleno as the best he’s had. La Casita es muy bien!!

We are in town visiting and decided to try this spot for lunch. It is a smaller space but most restaurants in the area are smaller. They have a decent selection on their menu and also have vegetarian options. We ordered a fried taco that was like a Philly steak and cheese and some tacos from the vegetarian menu. They do serve chips and salsa when you first arrive and the salsa is pretty good a little spice to it. The food came quickly and was decent. There is actual flavor to it and the portions are generous. The vegetarian dish came with 3 different items and was very filling. They were generous when they fill the tacos and quesadillas. Overall, it was a good experience and a great place for lunch.
