La Casita Del Sabor was recently taking over by new owners and what a great pair of owners it is. My first experience at the restaurant was superb. From the door, I felt at home!!! I was greeted like family by the counter staff, the aroma of the food just hit me. Along with that, I did not have to guess what the menu choices were (it was simple and clear), great customer service (the servers and cashier were so friendly), food came out on time (no long waiting periods after your drinks arrive), Food was hot and delicious. I ordered the half chicken with rice (chicken/steak),the beans to add to the rice was just right.. along with my food I had the strawberry lemonade ( I have to meet the person who makes the lemonade, it was perfect). Everything was greatly put together. Too add I was joined by two of my clients and they too are looking forward to returning back. We cannot wait to try out the other menu options, I am sure my next experience will top my last.

I’ve had goat and rice with gandules. I was satisfied with the taste, amount of food, and presentation of my plate. It was delicious and I can’t wait to go and taste the other dishes too. Heads up to the chef and the baker as well. He was very attentive and friendly.

Awesome food and baked pastries. Lots of food going out which was good which made everything fresh coming out of the kitchen. The empanadas are excellent and youu can’t just stop at one you have to have one of each and then you have to one or two more of the one that hits your tongue more than your better half. Then you have to take some on the way back home which never make it in the door. Great staff and it feels like eating moms cooking again. !!!!!

I’m a big proponent for Local businesses, however what I experienced today was nothing short of unsatisfactory. Today is Saturday 12/8/17, I looked online for the hours of the business and on Google it’s states 7 AM opening. Woke up early, wanted to surprise my family with some fresh breads and pastries for the day. I show up at the business site with my son only to find out that it was closed. The sign on the door reads they open at 8am. Not a big deal, I decided to wait with my son for 45 minutes in the vehicle in front of the business until they open at 8am. As of this review, it is now 8:23 and the business is still not open. The first employee I saw walking around was at 8:04am. In my opinion, this is not a good way to start a business. I cannot review on the food, nor the service because it’s still not open. If your going to announce, and make a big deal about a new business opening please make sure you stick to your schedule. My advice to Anyone who decides to visit the establishment, do not come early. Maybe try lunch Or dinner time, they might have the lights on and be open then.

The place looked very promising, the menu looked good. But why the rating of 3 stars you ask?
Well the reason for my rating is a combination of things. The food was OK, the empanadas weren’t that great, a bit salty for my taste. They felt lik they were sitting under the heat lamp for quite some time.
The main course which was Mofongo, was dry and the shrimp were over cooked. The bathroom wasn’t clean and the staff were not wearing mask.
Masks are a must due to the pandemic.
This rating is my opinion and I am only speaking about my experience, your experience could be different.

WORST PLACE EVER!!! I live locally and went here to pick up dinner. SO SORRY I DID!!! The food is OVER PRICED DISGUSTING AND EXTREMELY SMALL PORTIONS!!! I asked if there was more pork since there wasn’t any left in the warmer, the girl said yes in the back. I live literally 4 minutes drive away. I got home opened the bag and then the container. Rice was overcooked and somewhat dry. The pork was COLD!!! Not even shredded. Was EXTREMELY DRY DRY DRY!!!!!! NOTHING HAD FLAVOR EITHER!!!!! What a WASTE OF MONEY!!!!! I WILL NEVER RETURN!!!!!
So sorry I don’t live closer to Lancaster City where the AUTHENTIC FOOD IS!!!!!

Was happy to see La casita open up. We Had two great take out meals this evening. Wife had fall off the bone rotisserie chicken and beans. I had the fried boneless chicken yellow rice and beans and an empanada it was all exceptional.

I disagree with the other 2 reviews. They have some delicious Spanish rice along with the pork and Chicken. Their chicken empanadas are my fav among the rest. I have no review on their desserts though. Id say try them out once and see for yourself.

Food: The rice was slightly dry and had hard peices. Baked chicken was done with a dark barbecue sauce, which didn’t blend well for the baking style. The pork was slightly dry. The beef & cheese pie had been cooked in old oil, causing a bad flavor and the oil to embed itself rather than leak out. The overall flavoring seemed bland.
The rice was replenished after my serving. The new batch had the better orange-red coloring, rather than the brownish my serving had. The flavoring was better, but yet was still weak.
Appearances: The dining area was basic in style and appearance. Cleanliness was not a factor. The service station was small and required some investigation to understand its layout. The pastries were at the front case, while the main staples were hidden on the side. There was no greeter at the door and a wait for service/assistance at the counter was required; even though I was the only guest. The lids over the food had loose food scraps on top, giving a questionable cleanliness appearance.
My visit was on 9/6/17, during the New Holland Fair in the evening. I observed three people in the kitchen, the counter attendant, a runner (taking food to restaurant’s tent stand) and two youth helpers. While the restaurant was not busy, they were carting food continously to the tent. , possibly I just visited on a bad day.
I did encounter family (one non-Hispanic, one Hispanic). They stated they like the food, but warned that the meats can be dried out, depending when it was made. The rice is best when fresh, and the orange-red rice is the rice of choice. The brownish rice tends to be bland and drier.
This was my first visit, and experience; but you decide. I recommend sampling the food before deciding to purchase a whose meal !!
Personally, I would not recommend this restaurant my freinds who have experienced good flavored Spanish cooking. However, those that typically consume bland or lightly flavored food might enjoy the taste. “I recommend sampling the food before deciding to purchase a whose meal”.
