Overall experience was good. Service and hospitality was great, very friendly and welcoming. I did not take a pic of the carne asada burrito and torta, did take one of the fish taco and street corn dip appetizer. The fish taco was really good, the street corn dip appetizer was amazing, I could have ate that alone it was so good. Carne asada burrito was ok, the torta was a good size one and solid. The burrito was a lot smaller than what I thought I would get. The only thing that was disappointing were the salsas. None were spicy and tasted flat or sweet depending on what you got. When I say flat, I was expecting more flavor and spice, I’m not a very spicy eater but Taco Bell salsas are much better. I don’t want to knock the place but depending on what you get, could lead you to have a great or ok experience.

La Casa Verde is such a great option for Mexican food in San Diego. I got their birria tacos and their pollo tacos. I absolutely LOVED the food, the birria was so flavorful and the consome tasted great! I would absolutely come back if I lived in San Diego. I also love their sauce bar where you can make as many sauces as you want. The avocado crema sauce is amazing!

Stayed 3 days in san Diego, came to La Casa Verde 3 times. Absolutely outstanding. All my friends and family will hate me for how much I will recommend this place now. If you’re not sure, go for the adobada with anything, it’s great on the taco, burrito, and quesadilla. I’m sure that everything else is great as well.

Fantastic weather. Fantastic service. Great food. Loved the area great views close to little Italy. Customer service was fantastic. Will come again on the next event I come back to this town. 🙂 Try it and love it or don’t. We all have our opinions. But don’t deny it till you try it.

It’s great to have authentic Mexican food available in Little Italy. Personable, happy staff always willing to please. I’m so happy to be able to sit on India Street having street tacos and a cold cerveza, watching all the people walk by!

This place is awesome! Counter service, good prices, super friendly staff, and great food! I got chips and salsa with a carne asada burrito. The salsa is homemade and really good. The asada burrito was also very tasty. Highly recommended.

Service was solid, friendly, and efficient without being overbearing — exactly how I like it. The fish tacos? A crispy, zesty little triumph. Carne asada held its own too — flavorful and well-cooked, even if it didn’t steal the whole show. But the real under-the-radar MVP? The salsas. Bright, punchy, and the kind of thing you low-key consider pocketing.

Definitely worth checking out if you’re nearby and craving something satisfying without the hype.
