Really good food choices and great service. I tried the arepa with cheese, fried salami and fried cheese, and then had the churrasco as well. Everything was delicious. Was sad I didn’t get to tried the ceviche since the person that makes it wasn’t there the day but over all I recommended and would come back to try more dishes.

I have to admit when I pulled up I had my doubts, even when I walked in , BUT the food is sooo good. I had the garlic shrimp Mufongo, if you like garlic it is a must. My husband had the fried pork mufongo , it was great too but he should have ordered black beans with it to have ” a sauce” this place is the real deal. . Alot of food for the price. We both had take home boxes.

Well on this day I had the garlic shrimp Mofongo it was good, also stewed chicken with rice and beans and fried sweet plantains… I must say it was good. The taste of the food brought back memories of my childhood growing up. A neighbor from Puerto Rico made similar dishes. Man it was good.the only issue I had was this was my second time visiting 1 st time food was good but service was not. Came and tried to again and as soon as we went in they showed no customer service, girls had attitudes, food was good but took 1hr to get it. Really needs work on their time and customer service

Empty. Maybe b/c it was Wednesday. Yessina took our order, 1st, and last encounter. She sat behind the counter, never looked up to even get my husband, another . The other server came out, acknowledging us. In which I noticed her reprimanding Yessina. As far as the food, we wouldn’t say it’s the greatest. We’ve had better, but it’s not the worst.

The food is pretty good. I was looking to experience PR food, and they did not let me down. We took home some alcapurrias to fry at home to share with the family. Delicious. The restaurant itself could use some updates.. it’s a bit of a hole in the wall, but these are the best places to find that authentic food

Respectfully, keep in mind I am half PR & DR, I came to this location & ordered two meals to go, it was not busy at all & I was the only person there (even gave a tip when I made the payment before they gave me the food I order) but yet they gave me boiled stew chicken in a small coffee cup in one order which was not the chicken I ordered & they gave me half a cup of mondongo in another coffee foam cup all cups were the size of 4 fingers width & length . The tostones/Yuka/Yellow plantains were all mad soggy & Wet not fried nor crispy how it should be, The salad was a small baby portion with one slice of tomato with no flavor inside the small foam tray pocket as shown, The abichuela(beans) was mad water down but was ok , The rice was ok, and the home made juice was very water down and did not taste natural at all, Both meals coasted me about $41. As the typical friendly Carribean I would have let this go but I thought of all the Non-Carribean people who came to this restaurant and now think this is how real Carribean food tastes when it’s not. Y’all suppose to represent y’all people please fix this. Also the floors were very sticky as I walked throughout the restaurant as if the moping was with dirty water because my shoe made noise every step I took, The restaurant can use some remodeling also.

It smelled like an old bar, maybe it’s from the bar next door, so we almost left, we tried to order pastel en hoja, kipes, empanadas, they didn’t have any of that, so we tried that acrepa thing, it was good… The food was ok, everything needed more flavor or salt…. Trying the other Dominican restaurant next by 249 North…. Wish this one was better because it’s close to me…

I travel for a lot for work and I’m always seeking out a place to eat a bandeja paisa. Well, this place didn’t disappoint at all! The arepa con queso was also delicious. Will definitely have to go back if I’m ever in the South Houston area!
