Nice place with lovely staff and decent food.

We came for lunch on a Friday, were immediately seated and had speedy service. The food was decent, our waitress gave recommendations. We both got a burrito, margaritas, and the dulce de leche cake. The burritos were filling with the meat being flavorful. The margs didn’t seem to have much tequila at all however were yummy.

Would 100% recommend the dulce de leche cake! Perfect sweetness and not soggy.

We been to this restaurant handful of times and from the moment we walked in the service was warm and friendly, we definitely felt welcomed coming here. The food is amazing we get the chicken huarache and always comes out fresh and delicious. The fries we ordered came out golden and crispy and the salsas are top tier they have a lot of flavor but on top a little kick of spicy. Overall everything gets a 5 star from me ☺️

This spot is a hidden gem for sure! The restaurant is decorated to the top with Mexican memorabilia such as dolls and singers. The environment is low key and casual, no need to dress – just bring your appetite! The service was fast and friendly, but the highlight is most definitely the food. I’d never before had a huarache, and this place was the best place to try one! They are HUMUNGOUS and you can select what goes on top of it, from eggs like myself, to asada. Each one had two types of salsa on top – and hot salsa at that! Not just spiciness, but temperature. I’d always been served salsas cold, so this was a great way to enjoy all the flavors. While this was all my stomach could take – the menu was huge, and I’d encourage you to try out this spot as you will surely find something authentic that you enjoy.

Absolutely amazing!!! I was in the area visiting the zoo and my husband was really wanting Huarache. Highly highly recommend getting it. I ordered the quesabirria and it was absolutely delicious. I don’t think there’s any dish here that would disappoint. The ladies working were really awesome, super friendly and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to visit Omaha again and come back here!

The best huaraches in town and really good nachos too, most of the dishes from their menu are good or really good for a good price. The place is always clean and a lot of tables to sit. I will recommend to anyone the specialty : “huaraches” and for the hangover their “chilaquiles”. If you never being here you should stop by and try them. I’m from Mexico City and being from there I had access to the best variety of Mexican food from different mexican states.
Updated on 04/18/2025: I went back after so many years and this place level up. Not a lie folks but they have the best salsas in Omaha. I never tried a really good salsa on a restaurant but their salsas are on another level. Especially the tomatillo one. The food was delicious like always, this restaurant should be one of the best Mexican restaurants on the State.
For the “La Casa del Huarache” owner: “keep the good work and keep delivering us the delicious and tasty food”. THANKS!!!

Best Mexican food in Omaha. We had breakfast around 11am. I had the chilaquiles and she had the chorizo plate. Both were great, and it was a ton of food. The house coffee was very good and the place is pretty large, with TVs and a full bar. Will be back for sure!

After a few years, gave this place another chance. Large portions, great taste, large variety of foods. They now have sushi!

If you’ve never been here before, the food is great, the salsa has good taste and mild spice, and the staff are polite. Solid 4/5 experience.

If you have been here before, the machete was noticeably smaller, the salsa is significantly thinner and less tasty. Still a great buy, but not as good as it used to be.

I was there today with my husband. The service was awful. The food was cold. It was not good at all. I asked for limes. They never got there. I asked for water. I never got there. The server had a really bad attitude will never be back plus it was very expensive. It was two adults and baby, and they try to charge me service charge for a party of five very disappointed will never be back .
