Our first visit here and we really enjoyed it. Let’s get the only potential drawback out of the way first. It is not a negative, but it could matter if you are in a hurry. The food is made fresh, and that means there is a wait. Plan to come with time to spare.
That said, please do not let the wait stop you from visiting. The food was absolutely amazing. Fresh, flavorful, and completely different from other places we have tried. We had a great time and truly enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere.
We will definitely be back, next time with plenty of time to relax and enjoy the experience. A+

Only complaint i ha e is i went twice and both times they gave me chips and salsa and took 10 minutes for water or drinks to even be asked for its like they wanted me to grab the waters they have for purchase on the table my mouth was burning and I had to wait for the waitress to ask for drinks. Other than that food was delicious both times. Pancakes were amazing.

We stopped by for our first time visit on Black Friday, so it wasn’t a busy day. I think they are usually busy on the weekends. The service was great. It’s a charming little spot. The decor is really modern and beautiful. They serve chips and salsa and the chips were very tasty and salty. The salsas were good too, but a fair warning they are very spicy. I ordered entomatadas with extra sauce. The dish was satisfying and the sauce was very flavorful. My husband ordered the enchiladas mole. He enjoyed it. He also ordered a cucumber lemonade, and it was refreshing and not too sugary. They have a very nice set up for the bar, that’s for sure. The cocktail menu looked lovely. My kids split a chocolate cake and it was good, the bread was a little dry though. Also one thing I was looking forward to was their variety of desserts. We did not see them this day, I’m not sure if they only serve the big varieties on the weekends, but that for me was slightly disappointing. But other than that the experience was nice and the presentation of the food was beautiful.

It’s a nice place, which i have been to several times now, but the dishes and coffees come out cold a lot of times and the chilaquiles and enchiladas are lacking a lot of flavor. Tortilla soup was good and warm.

We ventured out to Casa de Abuela, and I was initially skeptical, expecting Casa Madre vibes. But the truth is, the food was excellent! The atmosphere was inviting, the staff were friendly, and the prices were reasonable. I’ll definitely be back!

Honestly not impressed at all. For the $50 we spent here, you could get better food elsewhere for a lot less.

We ordered take out, the migas norteñas and the abuelas breakfast but it was bland at best. The pancakes had a weird after taste and they were a little sweet. No syrup included.

The migas were ok but the best thing was the salsa. Eggs were bland and the beans tasted bland and reheated. Not fresh at all. I was disappointed.

I don’t know why they took so long to get our order ready. There were two people standing around while one lady was grabbing everything, going to the back several times. We get there way past the 20 minutes of the recommended time to pick up the order. We wanted a concha but the ones on the counter weren’t for sale. Another disappointment.

I love eating local and supporting restaurants from all over, but this was not a good experience. The disorganized staff was just a giant turn off. If I were you, pick somewhere else. We will not be back. 2 stars mang!

First off, the restaurant has a very inviting aesthetic—overall a pleasant atmosphere, even though the faux tree in the center wasn’t quite my taste.

We ordered the enchiladas de mole with rice and refried black beans topped with queso fresco, as well as a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Based on the menu description, we assumed the salad was an entrée, though in hindsight I probably should have asked about the portion size.

When the food arrived (and for the record, the chips and salsa were good), the enchiladas were generously filled with shredded chicken and the mole had great flavor. The beans were good, while the rice was just okay and a bit dry. The Caesar salad, however, was made with shredded iceberg lettuce instead of romaine and included carrots, croutons, cherry tomatoes, and cubed grilled chicken, which was a bit unexpected. And it was more of a side salad.

Overall, I felt the pricing was a bit steep for what was served. The enchiladas were good—though not outstanding. That said, I might still come back, but probably just for a concha next time.

The food is great, I recommend their Migas Norteños. If you have a sweet tooth try their taro panqueques. The place is gorgeous, great for photo opportunities. Shout out to our server, Candy. She was wonderful, she was extremely patient with us with ordering and was knowledgeable on the menu. Great service
