THE BEST!!! Salmon Enchiladas SO GOOD!!!! Salmon with garlic sauce inside the tortilla served with cheese and avocado slices then topped with a green sauce (2) and a red sauce (1). When you bite in to the enchilada and the garlic sauce salmon blends with the sauces on the outside the flavor is outstanding. BEST Mexican dish I have ever had!!!!!!

I went inside this restaurant with high hopes because I had a taste for mexican food. I sat at the bar, and requested a menu so that I could order lunch. The waitress gave me a menu, and then never came back. I waited fifteen minutes for her to come back, but she never did, so I couldn’t place an order. I ended up having to get up and walk out, and I drove down the street to another restaurant.

For he past 12 years we have had birthday celebrations here. The number of people ranged from 13-17. We were given the back party room when available. We had such a celebration this past December in the party room. When I got home I noticed that I was charged a 25% tip, not only on the food portion but the tax. I wasn’t told there be such a charge. I have called the co-owner, Moishe, at least 7 times and left my name and phone number. Never received a call. Today I finally spoke to a brother to the owner and explained my concern. He kept repeating, “there’s an automatic tip when using the party room”. I mentioned that it was never charged before but he simply repeated himself. Finally, he raised his voice and said, “well, what do you want me to do about it”. I told him we would find more responsive & ethical Mexican restaurants elsewhere.

I have gone to La Casa De Isaac & Moishe several times and it has always been an exceptional experience, with outstanding food and great service. Unfortunately, I think it was a very off night for the Highland Park location. We were celebrating a special bday for my brother with our party of 9 and got there at 630pm. Some of my family is from out of town and were eagerly awaiting my recommendation. Unfortunately, issues started at the beginning with late drinks (by about 715pm); missing chips and refills; delayed food; one person getting his order 20 minutes before the rest of the group; a frazzled server; 2 steak orders of Cecina Estilo Huitzuco (Marinated steak sauteed with onions and jalapeno peppers) that were missing the sauteed onions and jalapeno peppers – so unseasoned flat meat. Everything just built to a rather unfortunate conclusion and an experience that was memorably bad for a milestone birthday. I asked to speak to the manager and my cell phone number was taken. I wanted to have an opportunity to have a discussion, and I hope to at least express my disappointment. From what I have gathered, they were very busy – but no one said anything to us, even though we asked. It is just really frustrating to pay over $300 and have this bad of an experience.

This is a disgrace. Old, ugly inside. Place needs a remodeling big time! Prices like in downtown but service and food and place is so blah… ordered soup – took 15 mins and two reminders to get it. As HP resident never coming back.
