Maybe every dish isn’t this good, but we and our friends tried the #1 (bisteca carreta) and #23 (bisteca with spinach basil sauce fettucini and parmesan, and roasted potato slices). We both loved our dishes.
I also had the crema volteada, a flan topped with a light sauce and peaches. It was good, but I’m cheap, so maybe not $5.99 good.
We didn’t have to wait, on a Sat night at 6:30pm. The server was attentive and our meal arrived rather quickly. The finely chopped fresh Pico de Gallo type salsa was perfect. The only complaint was that the chips seemed to be thicker, yellow corn from a store bought bag, instead of the thin, house-made sort I’m used to from other Latin restaurants. But perhaps these are the type of chips enjoyed by Peruanos (Peruvians), so maybe they’re fine.

Seasoning on steak was good but meat was chewy & hard to eat. The rice & noodles that came with our meals were delicious though.

Went in this week after an appointment nearby and had a wonderful time. When we entered I think we were the only customers in the restaurant. The food was great! We had the grapefruit marinated steak and chicken dishes. The spices were so good and the meat was really tender. I think its been 20 years since we were there last time. I think we’ll be going back a bit more frequently.

La Carreta is the best Peruvian restaurant I’ve been to. Granted, it’s the only Peruvian restaurant I’ve eaten at, but it’s still fantastic.
My go-to is the Saltado Mixto. It’s got great flavor and is a hearty portion of food. It’s family run, and I love the atmosphere and vibe. It’s never very busy, and the service is always good. I’m definitely not the expert on Peruvian food, but anytime you put a protein with rice over French fries, you know it’s gonna be good.
The only downside is the prices are steep, even for inflation. You get plenty of food, but it doesn’t pass my price to satisfaction ratio. Until I try another Peruvian restaurant, this will remain my favorite.

This was my first time having Peruvian food, and it was divine! We got there, and they immediately started loading up our table with 13+ platters . We had almost every dish, and every single one of them was sooooo good. The purple drink was also so scrummy, would definitely recommend . The raw lime fish was kind of intimidating, but it was perfectly soft and paired deliciously with the herbs . Every type of potato we had was so unique and perfectly cooked. We had an amazing time and felt so stuffed but so happy. They brought out ice cream that is from a fruit you can only find in Brazil that looks like a mango, and an avocado had a baby that tastes like dates. Hands down some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. And I’ve been to Italy, so that’s saying something . For our group of 3 boys and 3 men, we had about 2 plates left over, but we’re kind of all biggies, so I would recommend getting like 1.5 plates per 14+ person. Also if you get the raw fish stuff(sorry, I can’t name any of the dishes’ names, I would butcher them if I tried ) you have to chug the leftover liquid left in the dish to become a real man . I heard some of the craziest stories here, and it was such a blast! The girl who served us(sorry again, I don’t know her name ☹️) was so nice and needs a raise. She genuinely seemed like she really liked working there, and the atmosphere was inspiring. There was a couple there as well, and they looked chill, and it’s giving they are going to get engaged, but the girls going to break it off. Sorry if that’s crude, but it was just the vibes I was getting. If you are reading this, you know who you are couple girl . Anyway, would low-key trust all the people here with my life and this was legit probably top 3 restaurants I’ve ever been to. And I’ve been to France . GO HERE!

My wife and I absolutely love this place. The food is incredible but the service is even better. They are kind and quick with their service. We always feel appreciated when we come in! The food really is amazing though, the most authentic Peruvian place in Utah in my opinion.

We’ve been going to La Carreta for many years and have always loved the food and the kindness their servers and management bring to the community. We recently got married and chose them to cater our wedding and we have gotten nothing but rave reviews about how delicious their food is. I seriously recommend this place for any event or just a good quiet meal with friends and family. La Carreta’s food will always be a comfort meal for both me and my husband. Eat here and keep eating here!!

This is a nice diversion from the typical chain restaurants in the area. Don’t go if you are in a hurry and the service is relaxed and slower paced.
The staff is friendly and helpful, especially if you are not familiar with Peruvian food. They have many choices.
The food is served hot and comes out when it is ready so there is some delay. Enjoy and visit and eat in a relaxed pace.
The kitchen is pretty open and is clean and orderly.
The meal is served with chips and a very delicious salsa.
Definitely a good visit.
