The music was a little too loud for lunchtime (we were almost shouting) and menu options aren’t what you’d expect from a typical Mexican restaurant. They don’t offer side dishes such as rice or beans, the seafood was $20+ per dish and almost every single option had shrimp in it (there is no fish here), the tacos only have three options (adobada/pork, pollo/chicken, carne asada/beef) and there was one taco option that had birria but it has habañero included. They also didn’t have lemonade 🙁
We tried their asada fries (pictured) which were VERY yummy. Their mussels were out for blood – SO spicy! The Quesabirria was also very good, it’s about the size of a medium tortilla folded in half.
The menu uses a QR code that allows you to order from there and offers small pictures of some of the options which are, admittedly, hard to see. Our waitress was kind enough to explain many of the options to us but that could have been avoided if the menu were updated just a little bit better. All options are also pretty much exclusively in Spanish ONLY.
If you’re looking for a true Mexican meal (fajitas, chimichanga, enchiladas, etc.) fix get it someplace else. Overall, good food but had too much of a clubby atmosphere for what we were expecting which is likely the fault of our own.
I went out on a Saturday night and was very disappointed with my experience. First, the venue only accepts cash for the $20 entrance fee, which is incredibly inconvenient and feels outdated in today’s world. Once inside, I was shocked to be charged $48 for a single bucket of five beers — an outrageous price that felt more like a scam.
While the music was good, that was the only redeeming quality. Between the cash-only policy and the overpriced drinks, it’s hard to recommend this place. I suggest taking your money elsewhere where you’ll get a better experience and more transparent pricing. Horrible management.
The walls are cute but it feels very empty and uninviting.
You pay before you eat, but beware as they have things listed that aren’t for purchase. I actually left without getting the refund for the side item they were not serving.
So In all, just be ready to wait and have to remind them maybe a few times until they are used to the crowd they draw.
I think this place will be going places!
