Nice and beautiful place to have a dinner. The server Elena was amazing and helped us whenever we needed her! But the food was disappointing, especially comparing to their pretty high prices. The drink was really bitter, the soup – sour, but the most disappointing was extremely salty chicken breast. We had no choice other than to regurn it back to kitchen and ask to re-cook it.

We had the very best experience! We sat at the bar and Sabrina and Tim were amazing, serving up perfect recommendations! The drinks and food were 10/10 delicious. I will forever compare every espresso martini I ever have to the one is Sabrina made tonight! Fabulous! Thank you for a lovely dining experience! We will be back!

Amazing ! 5 stars ! Local and a family that has ran this for 43 years. The bar tenders and staff were so great and you can definitely feel a vibe of family. Best place I have eaten in Winnipeg

Dry tasting pasta, bland boring sauce and an atrociously salted appetizer all but ruined my date night, thank god for great company and amazing wine.
I had high hopes for a nostalgic date night dinner, but unfortunately, Mona Lisa fell short on nearly every front.
The restaurant was not busy but the service dragged, our server who also appeared to be the bartender, took drink orders and food orders at a snails pace (water was eventually delivered by another server). That said, the wine list was excellent, and the décor was warm and inviting, which raised expectations.
We ordered the pane fritto for an appetizer which is lightly fried dough, usually a simple and delicious dish, ours was hard and extremely salty.
Shortly after the appetizer was delivered our pasta arrived, crowding the table and not letting us have a chance to enjoy the appetizer which did not matter due to how salty it was. I ordered the pescatore linguini and the wife had fettuccini con ragu. My dish was served in this weird star shaped dish (seen in the picture) and featured dry pasta with a boring plum tomato sauce with all the sea food your heart could desire (mussels, shrimp, calamari and clams) but over cooked. The wife’s con ragu suffered from the same boring sauce and dry pasta.
The pros; wine selection was good, servers were nice and pleasant but slow, the decor was lovely.
The cons; slow service, food was slow, poorly timed and over salted or bland.
The bill came to $131 before tax and tip for four glasses of wine, one appetizer, and two pasta dishes. While not unreasonable for a date night out, the quality of food and service simply didn’t justify the cost. I left wishing I had chosen Frankie’s or Alena instead.
Mona Lisa had all the ingredients for a lovely evening ambiance, wine, and company but failed where it mattered most: the food.

We had an amazing dinner with our family of 6 including two children. Waiter was excellent and had no difficulty accommodating a special order for our daughter. Our first visit but we will definitely be back.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at this cozy, family-owned Italian restaurant, and it was amazing!
The food was delicious—authentic and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, but what really made the night special was our server, Tim. He was attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations. We’ll definitely be back!

Love it here! Its a smaller restaurant with a great atmosphere, great for a date night or group night out with amazing food and drinks. Service was fantastic with explanation of different items on the menu and suggested pairings. You won’t be dissapointed by anything on the menu. We tried the seafood pasta and chicken parmesean, both cooked perfectly with an amazing flavor. With an espresso martini affagato for dessert is an absolute must, definitley one of the best I’ve had in the city. Busy saturday night dinner makes complete sense, I would reccomend a reservation, it was very easy to book through open table. Lots of variety on the menu, and good portion sizes. I’m already looking forward to my next visit back

Mona Lisa Restaurant consistently offers delicious food which is why it is on my list of favourite places to dine! We always start with an order (or two) of the Pane Fritto. On this particular visit, these fluffy dough pillows were well seasoned but not so fluffy. They were a bit tough, and a little dried out. They were still very tasty even though the texture wasn’t the best. Caesar salad was very good. For our main dishes we ordered Chicken Parmigiana, Lasagna, and Spinach Cannelloni, and all 3 were delicious! Portion sizes were very satisfying and therefore no room for dessert! Highly recommend making a reservation, especially now that they have downsized.

I got a couple gift cards for Christmas. I really enjoyed the food, tasted high quality. I tried to lasagna and my wife had the Alfredo, both were amazing! We also had desert, cheesecake and tiramisu. All around great experience. PS, all the Italians talking in their language adds to the experience lol.
The server was great too! The space was a bit small and parking wasn’t the greatest, but was still worth it…Will definitely be back.
