La Calle Doce has been a beloved Dallas institution since long before I moved to Oak Cliff, opening its doors back in 1981—and it still delivers every single time. This seafood-forward Mexican restaurant sets the tone immediately with their complimentary fish soup, which is absolutely incredible: deeply savory, comforting, and bursting with flavor. It’s the kind of starter that already tells you you’re in for a great meal.
We began with the ceviche, and as always, it was flawless—bright, fresh, and perfectly balanced. It’s one of those dishes that’s consistently excellent no matter how many times you order it. The tilapia entrée was superb, cooked beautifully and full of clean, satisfying flavor. And the rice—so often overlooked—was outstanding. Perfect texture, rich flavor, and exactly what great Mexican food deserves. A good rice can make or break a dish, and this one absolutely elevates everything on the plate.
We also ordered the Camarón a la Diabla, which was a standout. Bold, spicy, and incredibly well balanced, it’s an unforgettable dish and a must-try. The margaritas were fantastic—available in small or large, and yes, we went large. Easily some of the best margaritas in town.
The service was excellent from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, the staff clearly understands how important it is to make guests feel taken care of. Many thanks to the whole team—y’all do it right. We’ll definitely be back again soon.

My husband and I LOVE this place! As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the owners of the restaurant. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The lighting and dimmed but not dark. There’s plenty of lighting and the decor makes you feel like you’re in a home. Restaurant and restrooms are always clean! When you’re looking at the menu, it doesn’t matter what you order because everything is delicious! Our favorite is the fish soup! They also have a great kids menu which includes a little bit of everything. In the evenings they do have a gentleman and lady playing live music so sometimes it can be a little loud but for the most part this place isn’t loud and is very pleasant.

Saturday morning found us at La Calle Doce with our besties. We wanted brunch, but also something a bit different.
We loved all the metal decorations as well as the family pictures on the walls. The outside patio was also very inviting.
The tortillas were hand-made and served warm with butter. We could not stop eating them. The sauces were also very tasty.

Love Calle Dolce, they have some of the best Mexican seafood in all of Dallas. Its perfect for a romantic date night or celebration. And the Margs are delicious and pack a decent punch. 10/10 will always come back.

Update I went again. Everything is very good. From the food to the service staff. To clean restaurant and bathroom. I live over a hour drive from this place. I’ll keep coming back.
