Food was sooo good ! I founds this place by accident on my way to visit our friend in the hospital, the owners were so nice. The fish tacos were amazing. And the torta was very filling and delicious. They brought out a big ol tamale in the beginning and it was delicious, the salsas were so good as well. Absolutely love the decor and the plates and cups. This place was booked for my friend’s wedding and it was such an amazing experience. I love all the art and ambience both outside and in. So many beautiful colors and representative of Mexican culture. From the time I walked in to sitting down, the staff were so kind and hospitable. Always checking to see if we needed anything and getting our plates as we finished them. The salchicha appetizers were delicious. I loved the cafe de olla – one of the best I’ve had. I had two cups. Lastly, my main dish was the chilaquiles verde which were really tasty. The chips were crunchy and the dish was saucy. It had a good amount of spice – like not bland or too spicy. Eggs, beans, and potatoes were cooked nicely – flavored well and not under/overdone. Would totally return!

The food, service and atmosphere is OUTSTANDING!!
We (party of 6) had a variety of the menu. I ate the Juevos rancheros. They were great. Spicy but not overwhelming. All dishes were made fresh and were served hot in a reasonable amount of time.

Stoped by for lunch on Sunday and what a find! The Michelada was the best in all of San Antonio had a down! The food is top notch as well. The tamales are made in house and unreal. Got 3 tacos, chicken, pork with green sauce and biria. All amazing and right up there with the absolute best in town. The salsa and sauces ARE the best in town and so was the service. We stopped here on our way out of San Antonio with a group of 11, including two little ones, and it was perfect for everyone. The restaurant was very accommodating for all ages. Even our younger kids branched out and tried something new—and loved it! I did too, and it ended up being the best torta I’ve ever had.
The portions were generous, and since we arrived right at the transition between breakfast and lunch, some of us ordered breakfast while others went for lunch. My husband really enjoyed his breakfast plate, and we sipped on what might honestly be the best coffee I’ve ever had while we waited.
Highly recommend this spot—great food, great atmosphere, and our server was so sweet and attentive!

My new favorite Mexican restaurant. The food was incredible and all made in house. Service was amazing, everyone was welcoming, helpful, kind and the atmosphere was gorgeous. You can truly tell they take so much pride in their customers experiences. Everything on the menu looked amazing but we got the tortas, mango aguas, and guacamole all 10/10. Prices were very reasonable! We will be back!

First time eating here , my husband and I were super satisfied from the food to the atmosphere. we loved all the decor around the restaurant! But the main reason we went there was for the food and every bite had flavor. The sauces were excellent and we had three choices from mild to spicy! My husband ordered a freshly squeezed mango juice, and I had the café de olla both drinks were so delicious and fresh! The decor was so cute. I had to ask if I could purchase a cup and I did ! Highly recommend La Calavera Garbancera as your next food spot !

Beautiful atmosphere, from the adorable tables to the talavera and cazuela. The service was warm, inviting, and generous. Everything was served in ample portions for very reasonable prices. The cafe olla, birria, carnitas, and pozole was delicious! I loved it! Can’t wait to come back!

The food was absolutely scrumptious, especially the pork tamales and stuffed chilaquiles! They were a true delight. And the service was top-notch too! I loved the ambiance and the decorations were so creative. It felt like I was transported to Mexico, and I really enjoyed that.
