LA Cajun Crawfish on 249 & Bammel is the highly popular and critically acclaimed original pioneer restaurant for the Vietnamese-Cajun cuisine that has entered the Houston food scene after Hurricane Katrina displaced many in 2005. Our store originally opened in 2005 with founding owner, Rosa Thay Nguyen, who inspired other LA Crawfish locations, Cajun Corner Restaurant in Bellaire, Crawfish & Beignets in the Hong Kong Shopping Mall, and the other Viet-Cajun Seafood Restaurants all over Houston today. For over two decades, we have been serving an unforgettable blend of Louisiana’s spicy, buttery seafood boils fused with Vietnamese spices. Love this spot. I go here for the seafood market section as well. Not everyone knows they sell the freshest and biggest live crawfish in Houston but they do. I always get my sacks from here. I got some live crawfish and my backyard boil came out perfect today. For convenience, the market section also sells the seafood boil bags, the cajun butter, and other seasonings.

My favorite seafood and wings restaurant in Houston. My parents took me here when I was in Middle School in 2012 and now I take my friends here all the time. I absolutely love it here. The wings are always fried fresh when you order. This last visit, I had the fried catfish (always the real catfish filets here and not the swai or channel catfish filets other places serve) with dirty rice and their famous petite boil which has crawfish, snowcrabs and shrimp!
This is the orginal LA Crawfish on the northwest part of town. It is a little hidden, but well worth discovering because I have tried the other imitators like New LA Crawfish and LA Spicy and both don’t do it as well as the original in this area.
If you’re in this area, try this restaurant and the Mexican restaurant Taqueria Del Rodeo Jalisco in front of it in same parking lot. Both are the best food around.

Customer service is great. I ordered the crawfish special 3 lbs for $31. My issue is that the crawfish corn and potatoes are not seasoned, and they give you some type of sauce, and another garlic butter sauce that just tastes like movie popcorn butter. I would definitely go back if they just season the crawfish boil instead of giving bland butter sauce. Oh and sausage is eckert sausage and we all know that is the low sausage. Come on now if this is Cajun we need andouille sausage I would even take Chappelle Hill over some cheap soft sausage. Overall the restaurant was clean.

I pass this place everyday going to and coming from work… And decided to try it out on my off day.. And I was not impressed at all.. The crawfish are a very nice size, but the flavor is so Bland.. I don’t care for spice, but the flavor is a must… I probably won’t try it again.. The customer service was great though..

I ordered a delivery I got the 6 shrimp and 10 wings with the chicken sausage shrimp gumbo. Ok, them wings are packed with flavor and we’re amazing. I ordered online and I had to do my research to see what location this was from. My food was neatly packed, still hot when it arrived. Even the delivery driver followed instructions well and customer service was great.

The food was alright. Dang the crab price went up. So I got the catfish and oysters, some shrimp rockets, 3 egg rolls, 2 piece of andollie sausage we had a mini buffet at home.

Been here a few times and ordered a seafood boil but this last time I added turkey necks and got food poisoning. Idk what was different when they made it this time on 9-23-25 but i wasted $87 to get my family sick two days with diarrhea and vomiting. Yall need to do better or pay attention to who prepared or cooked on that day because I feel awful and for that reason I won’t be supporting your business again.

Thought I’d give this place a try, totally regretted I got the two-piece fish/fries, got a ton of fries that taste as if they were fraud in the fish Grease, no seasoning, aside from that, the catfish was horrible no taste the seasoning was salt and pepper horrible, got a small bowl of gumbo, no utensils to eat Nora napkins! A total $20 waste! Beware if you’re looking for real Cajun!
