Reviews
Overall, the food was extremely disappointing. We also noticed that most other diners were eating burgers for dinner, which initially struck us as unusual but ultimately made sense given our experience. Regrettably, we cannot recommend this restaurant.
An incredible meal, plus excellent service. Oysters were fresh and paired with great toppings, we ordered one of each meat entree on the menu and they were all prepared to perfection.
I especially loved the lamb chops, and the steak frites was perfect as well. The Hunters Pie was a favourite at the table, and venison was tender and well seasoned.
Pouding Choumer was my favourite, and was delicious. Wonderful choice of house red as well, perfect for the cold weather.
Our wonderful waiter also helped us out by lending us a wine key for our wine at home, thank you for the kindness!
That said, the seafood stew and bone marrow were both excellent — rich, flavourful, and well-executed. The drink selection was also impressive, with lots of interesting options to pair with the meal.
Overall, the experience was okay, but given the price point, we expected more — especially from the steak. Wouldn’t rush back, but not a total miss.
The bone marrow is super-filling but a bit greasy
The duck maigret is the best you can dream of.
A normal person cannot finish a main course after an appetizer! All the portions are super generous.
Best foie gras outside France!
Make sure you start with a cocktail – it is done by the book- no offense! in Quebec/Mont Tremblant . And draft beer offer is impressive to say the least
Deserts are well balanced!
First of all, the service was as attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable as it gets.
The food was excellent, too. We enjoyed the cold Fois Gras appetizer and really like the fluffy toast pieces served with it. Our main dishes didn’t disappoint, either. The Veal Liver was excellent, very tender and juicy. The Lamb Shank was amazing. I’d like to highlight the sauce – it had a surprising mustard “kick” occurring seconds after and complementing the dish and my dining experience – a rare feat with mustard sauce that tend to be on a sour side and usually make stay away from them. Créme Brûlée was very rich and enjoyable, with a masterfully designed thick crust.
Wine list was on a pricey side, with bottle prices from $75 up and glasses – from $13. The beer selection was very good and plentiful, featuring local beers. Having multiple serving sizes was also a nice detail.
Skip espresso though, their machine isn’t the best and didn’t produce any cream whatsoever.
We do highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return on our next trip. Bravo!
