Please do yourself a favor and purchase all your pastry needs here! We always get the strawberry shortcake! So gooood! I’ve gotten my wedding cake, baby shower cake, Fourth of July cake, and we’ve tried different pastries as well; delicious!

I custom ordered a cake for my daughter’s birthday. It was an usual character but they assured me they would do the best they can and they did. The cake came out exactly like the picture I sent them. Loved it and there customer service. Our new favorite bakery. AMAZING

La Boulangerie is a really good bakery for Fresno, and the quality of the food is definitely a strong point. However, it feels like the space caters more to an older crowd. You’ll occasionally see younger people there, but most of the customers tend to be in their 50’s and up (this is not a bakery for young people).
The regular coffee is good, but unfortunately, their specialty coffee drinks miss the mark and don’t taste great. Some of the staff are very warm and pleasant, but others come across as unfriendly, even when you try to engage with them. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, but the space itself is quite small, which can make it feel a bit cramped.

Made a quick stop for a pastry and coffee. Service was quick and friendly. Nice outdoor seating for purple watching. The atmosphere is nice but needs to be modernized a bit in my opinion. Large selection of gourmet treats and breads. Parking gets very busy and tight during peak hours. I do recommend checking this place out if you want above average treats.

I had high expectations when visiting this bakery, given its upscale location and the fact that it’s situated near such a popular neighborhood attraction like Christmas Tree Lane. The exterior and ambiance of the spot are undeniably charming and high-end, which naturally sets the bar high for what you expect from their offerings.
Unfortunately, my experience with their strawberry shortcake fell short. The cake itself was disappointing—it seemed like a basic breaded cake with a few full strawberries placed on top and even one thrown in the center. While visually it might appeal to some, the execution didn’t match the aesthetics. Incorporating the strawberries into a jelly or compote would have created a more cohesive flavor and texture, rather than just adding whole fruits as an afterthought.
It feels like the bakery leans heavily on its polished image to create the impression of premium quality, but the actual product didn’t live up to the hype. I’d recommend they focus less on appearances and more on perfecting their recipes. For the price and reputation, I expected something truly special—not just something that looked good but delivered mediocre taste and presentation.
If you’re thinking about stopping by, be aware that the looks might play a trick on your expectations. Hopefully, they’ll work on elevating the quality of their cakes to match their otherwise beautiful shop.

Their croissants are so delicious and flaky! Definitely one of the best croissants I’ve ever had. I got their ham and cheese croissant, the only downfall I would say about it is that it was cold in the center. My coffee did take longer than I expected it to. It was ready by the time I was almost done with my croissant. Customer service was alright, it could’ve been a bit more welcoming/warm.

There was plenty of seating, there are also tables outside. The place has a cozy and authentic interior. Service was fast. There’s a good selection. My favorite thing we ordered was the coconut pineapple Danish. Everything we ordered came out to be around $24 (4 items with a coffee). Restrooms needed to be re-stocked and tables weren’t cleaned between guests.

Not sure if it’s under new ownership but La Bou seems to have declined. The service has dipped. In the pre-order bakery line, eventually had to wave my hands to get anyone’s attention after they helped 6-8 guests in the regular line, then they had trouble tracking down my cake because it was a “hold” instead of an “order,” then the name was spelled wrong despite the person taking the order confirming three times and it being spelled correctly on the form he filled out. Shouldn’t take 25 mins to pick up a cake. The lady in front of me in line dealt with the same issue. Definitely lost a step.

Too bougie for me but their cinnamon rolls and tarts are great! Service is great just gotta talk loud enough so they can actually hear which pastry you asked for. It’s not my type of environment. Too bougie and busy. I’m a recluse and average. It’s the talk of the town and highly recommended.

Pastries are good, love the fruit pizza and mini tarts. Prices are a little high, however baked goods have always been fresh and good. Tends to have an older crowd that fills the patio and café.
