After reading the reviews, I decided to try this eatery only because the food comments, service and food options appeared above average. It is my opinion, that the ratings missed the mark. The service, food options and overall ambiance were lackluster. Yet one should try it to see whether it tintalates your palate.

The chicken and fried bananas were accompanied by a mild sauce and tossed with a salad similar to coke slaw. There were three legs and I feel fairly stuffed. Service was fast and friendly. I will try another dish next time I stay next door at the Heartland Inn.

My new favorite lunch spot in the area! This was my first time trying Salvadorian cuisine. I got the fried plantains, zucchini pupusa, & frijol pupusa. All was incredible and delicious. Service was also fast and waitress was kind. Super affordable as well. Loved everything so much, highly recommend trying! Will be returning soon!

Authentic Salvadorian food, at such a great price that we can all that our little hearts desire, with sodas for around $25-30. Typical order is 2 papusas each and an order of yuca.

Delicious, authentic food. I had fried plantains, revueltas pupusa, loroco pupusa, and a side of beans and rice. The flavor was out of this world. Do yourself a favor and go give La Bendición a try you won’t regret it.

Highly recommend the fried plantains. We had three different pupusas, revuelta (pork), carrot and spinach. All were excellent as was the shrimp platter.

I’m updating my review! Second time I went this year and this place just went down hill. Pupusas are the size for a child (waffle size) , no taste and so dry. I also, got the carne asada main dish and I got not even a big piece of meat, mostly more rice , beans and salad. Disappointed!!

There aren’t very many places in the Iowa City area to get pupusas. This place hit the spot! I also enjoyed the fried plantains A LOT.
