This is a charming little spot in Media that’s perfect for brunch. The French toast was absolutely delicious! We also tried the omelette, La Mer crepe, and La Belle steak and eggs. I wouldn’t recommend the steak—although it was cooked perfectly to my liking, it had a strong, unfamiliar smell—but everything else was fantastic. The La Mer crepe, omelette, and brunch potatoes were all flavorful and well-prepared. Our lattes and coffees were warm rather than hot, would prefer hot. The ambiance was lovely, and the staff and server were incredibly friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu!

We wanted to try this classic French bistro that had been recommended by friends. Ambience was nice, and the menu was definitely mostly classic French dishes, but most of the dishes were just satisfactory.

There were four of us and I think the only thing we had that was really excellent was my husband’s seafood vol-au-vent appetizer. My snails had plenty of garlic butter, but had not been broiled, so didn’t have that nice browned top you expect. My trout with almonds was just so-so: the almonds had not even been toasted or browned. My husband had the hanger steak with shallots and there were no visible shallots in the sauce. It was more of a red wine reduction that had been pre-made: maybe shallots had been used in the cooking, but they were long gone. Thus, it wasn’t the classic French preparation for this.

It was all just OK until we got to the desert, which was a real disappointment. Our crepes Suzette were mushy and spongy. They had probably been made hours ahead of time and have been sitting in the sauce since then. The other couple had the crème brûlée, which they said was delicious. At least the waitress, comped us, our dessert, and offered to bring us something else.
The cocktails were excellent and reasonably priced, as were the wines by the glass.

Absolutely phenomenal meal! I took my girlfriend here after a show and it was fantastic. Great ambiance, great tunes, the service was wonderful -now to the food. We had the Escargots de Bourgogne which was delicious. Make sure to order extra bread to sop up the garlic/butter. This was followed by the Bucatini auaviar (pasta with mushroom caviar butter sauce) and the Truite Amandine (trout). I had a great Sauvignon Blac wine with dinner and the cocktails were well made. The dessert was delicious, we had the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee, and I’m not even a desert guy and couldn’t eat it fast enough.

Don’t even think twice about coming here- we can’t wait to come back.

Thank you for a wonderful meal and a great expierence!

Was hungry after early morning tennis yesterday so we tried a new place for brunch. Cute little french place in Media called La Belle Epoque Wine Bistro.
French country decor. Small tables (however they gave the two of us a four person table so it was fine). Service was friendly and very attentive. Everything came out pretty quickly and was at all the right temperatures. They had a pineapple mimosa that l liked very much and things started off great with a potato and leek soup du jour! Evan enjoyed his french onion soup as well. After that…things got mediocre pretty fast. I tried the La Belle Steak and eggs which were fine except the steak was smothered in a barbecue-like sauce. I think just a drizzle of that sauce would have been more than enough. Evan’s ham and cheese crepe was fine but seemed more like a pancake than a crepe (some level of refinement was missing). I had dessert which was chocolate mousse. Ummmm, anytime I am sure I have made something that tastes better than what I was served, it is likely a disappointment. As Ginny often says, this isn’t my last meal so no big deal. But I have to admit I was expecting more!

Just had our anniversary dinner here. We did an extensive search – including the Main Line and the city – before choosing here. They had the highest rating and rightfully so!

The food was EXQUISITELY delicious!! Usually I pick one or two of the best dishes, but we tried most of them amongst the 11 of us and EVERYTHING was REALLLLY delicious.

The staff was warm, welcoming, friendly, and sooooo attentive.

The cocktails were creative and tasty.

Can’t wait to go back!

Dinner: Okay. Dessert: Calling it a “portion” feels generous; it was more of a suggestion. A sampling so tiny it seemed embarrassed to exist, gone in two polite bites and a sigh. For the price, I expected layers, balance, maybe even a spark of creativity. What I got was sugar doing the bare minimum and charging rent for it.

The presentation was smug, the experience was over before it ever began—mercifully. If this dessert were a conversation, it would be small talk you can’t escape. Save your money, save your expectations, and spend both somewhere that understands dessert should feel like a reward, not a regret.

My husband and I visited last weekend and we had such a lovely date. Great atmosphere, incredible food, gluten free options, and great service.
We ordered the French onion soup, the pesto chicken crepe, and the seafood crepe. We don’t live locally but we can’t wait to go back for another date.

I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with my family.
The vibe is cozy and intimate, a varied menu, and friendly service.
The drinks were excellent and the food was well prepared.
My starter (fried eggplant) was delicious, crispy shell and topped with fresh mozzarella. My main course (Filet) was fantastic, perfectly cooked and tender. And finished the meal with a warm chocolate lava cake!
Everyone should definitely add this restaurant to their Media lunch or dinner plans!

This is my 5th or 6th time dining here and the food is always delicious. We dined outside, which was quite lovely. I had La Poulet crepe with chicken, wild mushrooms, caramelized onions, Fontini cheese, spinach and pesto. My friend had La Mer with shrimp, crab and lobster. Both were served with a side salad. The crepes were excellent. I loved my French martini, too! I will be back soon
