Social Profile:

La Becasse has been in business as a French restaurant for over 40 years! We feature French comfort food and have a terrific (and extensive) wine list, which is heavy on the French, features a fine selection of Michigan wines and has great value finds from the rest of the world. We source much of our food locally. We open for dinner service at 5 pm and Happy Hour (!!) on the patio is from 3-5–no reservations, but weather dependent since it’s not covered.

Intimate institution presents locally sourced, French country cuisine & a celebrated wine list.

What an incredible experience we had last night! The food, service, drinks and atmosphere were amazing! Loved everything about this small intimate French restaurant! The warm chocolate cake at the end was the way to end our evening! Such a fun date night! Thanks for an unbelievable night out! We will definitely will be back! It was beautiful in the winter after the snow storm! You have to try this restaurant out, you will not be disappointed.

Great food and friendly staff. My wife and i went for our 5 year anniversary. We asked to sit outside on the patio, they have a fireplace and heat lamps. She had the pork tenderloin special and I had the blackened salmon. They were both delicious. Nice drink and extensive wine menu. Parking lot is limited so we did street parking. Would definitely come back!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. I think it’s second only to the lobster ravioli in Maine. I had the veil that was amazing. The onion tarts needs to be a regular in the menu, amazing. I’ve had a few fancy French meals in my life, one of which was $250+ and this was half that and was better. The wait staff is also one of a kind. Knowledgeable and hilarious, he knew us well. Fantastic. Crème brûlée was also one of the best I’ve ever had and I order it whenever it’s available as it’s one of my favorites.

Amazing French Country Restaurant experience. Been to La Becasse for New Year’s Eve with family over the last couple of years.
First of all, Julie was out Server both times we were there. She is one of the best Servers I ever had. She was genuinely kind, we had great conversation with her and she was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks they offered. Thanks Julie.
Secondly, the food and drinks were second to none. I had the Beef Burgundy which I highly recommend. For drinks, I had the Corpse Reviver No. 1. Everything was mazing.
The atmosphere is quaint and warm. You are literally eating in a house. Chef Guillaume, is from France and he is the Owner. He makes it a point to interact with every customer. He interacted with us for a good 15-20 minutes. He is very knowledgeable in his craft, very engaging and kind. It was a wonderful dining experience all around. I HIGHLY recommend La Becasse if you are ever in Northern Michigan.

We enjoyed our third dinner at this fine restaurant and look forward to many more. The service is excellent, the food is divine, and the wine list has a wonderful variety. The proprietors are lovely and it’s a joy to get to chat with them! This is definitely my go-to spot for an incredible dining experience in the Traverse City area.

Took the family here for birthday gathering and it was a great experience. The staff was very attentive and the owner was very accommodating. Everyone at the table enjoyed their dishes, which can be tough to win everyone over, so that was an accomplishment. They had a nice selection of wines and drinks. They served a birthday cake that was WONDERFUL, and was an excellent finale to the meal. If we are in that area again we will be sure to make reservations again. Well done.

Who knew you’d be able to find quaint, classic and unbelievably crafted french cuisine in a small restaurant on the side of the road off of Glen Lake? We took our teens children (who are very open to trying new things) and they loved their meals. Not a place where there’d be many kids esp at that price point, but it wasn’t odd and the staff were wonderful! Escargot and tomato tart appetizers were tasty. All entrees were perfection. Desserts were interesting, esp the chocolate cake in phyllo. Overall, a fantastic experience. Food speaks for itself!

We had a truly delightful dinner experience. The ambience was enchanting, with soft lighting and tasteful decor that created a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The wine selection was impressive, featuring a variety of exquisite options to complement our meal perfectly. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home.

As for the food, it was nothing short of spectacular, with each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented.

We will be back!

Before coming here, I’ve only ever had French food in France. La Becasse was an amazing experience. The food and atmosphere made me reminisce of my time in Giverny. The waitstaff was also great. Anyone looking for a French experience in Northwestern Michigan needs to pay La Becasse a visit.

We stubled onto this place by default, celebrating our wedding anniversary. This was our 1st time to a French restaurant and the food was fantastic. Service was great and wasn’t rushed. Huge wine list, though that’s not our thing. Would definitely recommend.
