The best croissant I’ve ever had in my entire life. I went right at 8am (opening is at 7:30am), and the croissant was very very crispy, flaky, and hot. As soon as I bit into it, I could immediately tell that it was the best croissant ever–the inside layers were distinct yet soft and pillowy and fluffy, the exterior had a nice crunch factor, and the butter flavor was very prominent but not too strong. The dough itself was well-seasoned as well. Amazing.

Really incredible little French spot on west side. The croque monsieur is fantastic, the Americano is dark and strong, and the croissants are flaky and delicious. The quiche jambon was also excellent and very filling. Top notch breakfast spot.

Absolutely delicious find! We were looking for coffee and a quick bite. We had a latte (divine!), quiche, and a breakfast sandwich—everything was incredible. We finished with a chocolate chip and pastry cream bread. Just delicious! You must stop!

Wonderful atmosphere. Mom and pop shop from Paris who are real, charming, and make some of the mouth watering French pastries ever.

Eric’s review below is spot on. Do not believe any of the reviews of 4+ stars. The $9.00 Ham and cheese consisted of one skinny piece of meat, and two skinny pieces of cheese ($2.00 worth of ingredients). No lettuce or tomato made this sandwich so dry, I could hardly choke it down. This so called “Baguette” was NOT anything authentic. Dry insides, soggy crust, so tough, my jaw could hardly chew. I scraped the insides over to one half, which didn’t help much, and left the rest of the bread. I wish I took a picture of the dense bread, to reveal how terrible it was. The inscription on the window says, “Authentic French Bakery” – far from the truth. Don’t waste your money or time. Nothing authentic about this place. If you’ve ever had a ‘real’ baguette, (like in France) you will know what I’m talking about. Grocery stores make a better Baguette!

The name is spot on, as this place has the most delicious baguette I have ever had in my entire life by a LONG shot. They also have sandwiches and other pastries, all of which I’ve been extremely impressed with. Overall a great cafe/bakery run by great people!

Incredibly genuine, genuine French owners with deliciously divine délectables. Would go there daily if I lived in the area. A “must” if you are anywhere near the area and you appreciate authentic French bakery. Um um good!

Been here twice and disappointed both times. The worker behind the counter seemed inconvenienced by having to serve us. Desserts tasted like something you could get at a grocery store. The quiche I got was terrible – dough was raw in the middle and the rest was soggy. Don’t understand the high reviews if the service and quality are the same that I had.

Definitely a hidden gem of Madison! We ordered the tomato goat cheese quiche and some Olive bread, and as someone who doesn’t prefer goat cheese this quiche was amazing. The staff were very pleasant and helped us decide what to get based on our taste. Crepes are served only on Saturdays so don’t miss it! Very cultured place with great breakfast and breads.

This “European gourmet” bakery doesn’t even know what a cappuccino is (drink invented in Europe, by the way!) I ordered one and I was given a mug filled to the brim with a dark fluid (clearly not expresso) covered by a very thin layer of foam. When I returned the coffee, a very irritated owner asked me what is a cappuccino!! When I explained to him that a cappuccino consists of one third expresso, one third milk, and one third foam (per European Union standards!) instead of apologizing and offering to make me another, he, even more irritated, went to the till and handed me over a $5 bill, which, disgusted by his attitude, I refused. But this wasn’t all. The soups were mere colored water and the French (!!) onion soup made with NON-caramelized onions and because of this it was obviously tasteless. The pastries were not bad, but mediocre. The only thing we had and was good was an eclair, but even this one did not rise to the status of “gourmet.”
