Today I stopped in for breakfast and upon entering the parking lot. It’s an older place that could / should be remodeled to keep fresh and lively.
Loose panels on the booths. Worn edges and overall. Very well loved and used over the years.
Service is top notch here. As a matter of fact. My waitress was one that I have had at another location years ago. Very nice to see her again and chat and catch up :). I never needed for anything. From butter to refills on sweet tea is was always done.
Onto the food. I decided I wanted everything ! . But you have to make choices.
I chose to do the #3 breakfast special with a side or hash browns crispy.
See pic below. Very quick to table. Hot and steamy. Eggs were scrambled perfectly and had a great buttery taste. Bacon cooked good and nice thick cut. Pancakes were very tasty, nice vanilla taste and more then I could eat. The hash browns were not crispy. They were kinda burnt. There’s a fine line between golden brown crisp and then bottom of the pile burnt. These were a hard pass. Lisa was super kind to remove them from the bill.
Overall. Food is 4 star all day long. Service is 5 star all day long. Atmosphere is a strong 3. The place needs some remodel. But it’s hopping and people are happy.
I’ve always said. The people are why we are loyal to food places. We go for the people we make connections with. The food is separate. We shall see :).

Nothing against L George’s. The food is good. Vegan options great. Love the veggie omelette. My issue is I never dine in, I always do carry out. So to be asked upon payment for a tip for me to walk in and pick up my food is something only this franchise does. Don’t get me wrong I am a tipper. Gratuity is always a must when we dine in and get full service, but to walk up to the register and then is ASKED to tip is different for me. And I have done it… Tip them that is, but it doesn’t happen this way any where else. I hope I’m not being petty. Don’t beat me up. Because at this age I don’t know how certain things have changed anymore. Great food though otherwise and Staff is very nice.

I had to get a quart of lemon rice to go and it was fabulous!
although I Love live plants I just don’t like them hanging over me or the tables. suggestion get a few big potted plants for the corner of room? score of 4 for atmosphere.
WILL be back it may be a year may be 6 months time will tell.

L George’s has the best chicken salad ever! I order a chicken salad at least three times a week, and it’s always fresh, always full, and always hits the spot. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, the veggies are crisp, and they never miss. Definitely one of my favorite go-to spots!

Wow! This is the best dinner in area. Not only does the place run like a well oiled clock, the food is amazing. Everything is so fresh and flavorful. We’ve had omelettes (big enough to feed 2 people), burgers, salads, soups and chicken fingers. Everything is homemade and delicious. The lemon rice soup is the best I’ve ever had! Great staff! Highly recommended!

World’s largest L Georges our first visit, been a customer 40 years . George and family only own this location and Walled Lake out of 12 locations. My early memories are Southfield and Warren, Joy Road and Evergreen both still going strong. This mega restaurant full house with a dozen employees on the floor, they even have a hostess to seat you. I counted 6 cooks in the kitchen that were slammed with orders. Outstanding service by Brooke, really marvelous food and low prices made this a must try . I had a mega Breakfast Eggs Sausage Patty, Pancakes and Grits Wowed . We shared a Bowl with a chili special spot on Wonderful. She had a Sausage n Cheese Omelet. We finally got a chance to go have breakfast here and it’s a great place to eat! Because it was election day the place was extremely full but even so, service was great! Let me say, if you special order your food, (extra crispy bacon) that is what you’ll get. I think they are above a regular coney island. We will be back to try other items on the menu.

Excellent food and service! Obviously from how busy this place is you can be assured that it’s good from start to finish! Clean inside and out, parking can be crowded but people are constantly coming/going so parking is not a problem at all. Waitstaff will seat you mostly booths, some counter seats and tables for for larger parties. Both the servers and cooks work tirelessly to get what you want and do so with great care! Generous portions, a menu with plenty to choose from that is all tasty! Pepsi products with refills, along with other drinks.
