Incredible lunch special of chicken teriyaki, soup, salad, rice, and California roll for only $12.25 every Tuesday through Friday 11:30 to 2:30. If I lived in the area, I would come here all the time. Very clean restaurant with a koi pond and authentic decor, friendly and fast service, and delicious food. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a fabulous meal at Kyoto Restaurant today.

Very warm and welcoming, and a quick service. Food was the best Japanese food I’ve tried so far. The lady was so sweet, she gave me lots of candies, cuz I loved them.

Classic as always! So glad to see Annie still bustling around and being the most welcoming host and server. Ahi Nigiri was fantastic and a most generous serving. Atsu age was better than any agedashi out there! I could drink the sauce!!

I hadn’t been to Kyoto in years, but I was happy to discover that it’s still just as warm and welcoming as I remembered. It may not be cutting-edge in terms of food or décor, but it delivers exactly what you want in a neighborhood Japanese restaurant—reliable, comforting dishes served with care.
This is a family-run spot with consistently friendly service that makes you feel at home. I met a friend there last night—she lives in town but had never been. After our meal, she said she’d definitely be back.
We each had a cold Japanese beer served in a perfectly chilled mug—refreshing and a great pairing with our food. I had the salmon teriyaki dinner, which came with miso soup, salad, and rice. Everything was satisfying and just right.
After too many years away, it was a joy to return to Kyoto. I won’t wait so long next time.

It was our first time in Kyoto Restaurant. We decided to explore other sushi restaurants, while the owners of our favorite spot were on vacation.
My husband ordered a Philadelphia roll and a New York roll. Simple rolls that tasted ok.
I tried the Rohnert Park roll and the Annie Special roll. Omg, it was bad. The rolls were extremely dry and lacked flavor. Basically bland, dry rolls and nothing else.
If you stick to simple rolls, they are more than likely going to taste ok, because it’s hard to mess up something simple. But do not order anything “complicated”, it’s not going to taste good.
Another complaint was cleanliness. There were ants on the table, little flies flying around, and the utensils were not clean. The table was very sticky, I couldn’t even put my hands on it. Overall, this place really needs to improve its cleaning standards.
The service was mediocre as well.
Not coming back.

Good food, nice location, comfortable ambiance but slow service. Working owner was very nice, accommodating and gracious. Food was pricey, does not offer Saba Shioyaki as an entree, which is my favorite dish. Available Saba side order was over cooked and dry. Also, wrong noodle was used in Sukiyaki. However, sushi rice was cooked and seasoned properly resulting in delicious sushi rolls regardless of what kind we ordered. We made reservations for our party of 7 and our table was ready on arrival socially distant as per CDC guidelines. We ate well, and spent over $300 in food. There’s lots of room for improvement starting with ensuring that sushi plates are free from food debris. We asked to replace 3 of ours. Also, an included salad wasn’t dressed. Looks like they forgot that too. When restrictions are lifted, this restaurant has potential and probably worth a second visit if we are in the area.

I recently ordered dinner for pickup for my birthday. I ordered their oshinko roll, my son ordered California and Rohnert park rolls (along with other sides/etc). I took one bite of the Oshinko roll and it was so fishy/nasty tasting that I couldn’t bring myself to swallow it (it’s a vegetarian roll- no fish, but tasted like rancid fish). My son was halfway through his rolls when he started gagging and pulled a small sheet of plastic out from his mouth- there was plastic in his roll!! I couldn’t believe it- I pulled apart his uneaten rolls and there was definitely sheets of plastic inside most of them. Whoever made his rolls had forgotten to remove the plastic wrap from outside of the imitation crab. My son ate at least 4 pieces before realizing he was actually eating plastic- he said he thought the seaweed was extra tough/chewy. Needless to say I was horrified- I called Kyoto and told them that my son ate plastic they’d accidentally put inside our rolls and that I was bringing dinner back/wanted to be refunded. I gathered up all the food that had not already been plated and brought it back to show them that there was in fact plastic inside the rolls and to have my CC refunded. When I arrived they acknowledged the plastic, they didn’t really even apologize for it **AND** THEY REFUSED TO REFUND THE WHOLE MEAL! They only offered to refund the 2 rolls that had plastic inside. I had to argue with them for 20mins and it took me threatening to contact the health department before they finally agreed to refund the entire order. Kyoto is disgusting- and quite frankly, dangerous.

A hard place to find. When we walk in the hostess told us to wait. It was not a full house and their were table. We wanted to try their uni sushi. Since it was late they only had enough for 1 piece. The waitress said it was going to be $20 for uni. So 1 uni will be $10. But the menu price was like 13 for 2 pieces. Sushi was okay. We had better at sushiko.
