For starters, I’ve been to Kyoto’s a many number of times. When it first opened, I visited frequently. I mean, what’s not to love. There’s hibachi grills with plenty of surf and turf to choose between. There’s fried rice, lo mein, and you can eat some sushi or an appetizer (hot or cold) while you wait for the hibachi chef to fire up the griddle.
Furthermore, over the last 10 years or so, I’ve only been a handful of times; mostly around my birthday. Last night, however, the experience was different, in a very good way.
I didn’t get the names of our waitress or hibachi chef. I wish I had because they were both amazing. Our waitress was super attentive, bringing refills without me even noticing. The way our hibachi chef interacted with my family, and particularly my two children, absolutely made it a night that we won’t soon forget.
There were other subtle changes related to menu design, plating, etc., that I won’t dive into, but they were apparent enough, that it caught my attention at least. Bravo to the team (hostess/server/hibachi chef) that we had last night. Thanks for such a wonderful dine-in experience.

Called to order for pick up. Guy wasn’t very friendly. Got to the restaurant and stood there for about 5 min with workers walking by and no greeting. Another guy came in and was greeted right away and picked up his food. Then I finally was acknowledged. Got my food left came back to the hotel and while eating there was a long black piece of hair in the mix of my food. What a waste of $33 dollars. The noodles also tasted like some floral nonsense. It was disturbing. I do not recommend this place at all. I travel for work and come to LC often but I will not
be back to Kyoto. Also to mention the rest of the food has no flavor to it.

I went this place for the very first time n guess what!!!It was a fine dine-in area but unfortunately I thought it was a buffet place and I didn’t expect such a great ambience at all…The server was so good n the sushi was fresh n super tasty…Unfortunately the noodles were a little bit saltier but otherwise it’s good…

The food was not good at all. The people in my party had to send the sushi back was not eatable. It was so bad didn’t even want to take a picture of it. Was not fresh. Their 2.8 rating was being very generous. The only bright spot was our waitress she was very nice and the wings were good.

They are sooo trash , went in there after ordering my food 40 min prior for pickup. Had me late to work kept saying it would take longer then the manager decided to refund me after the lady told her my food was ready being spiteful instead of originally refunding me . So she waited until I was late to work and my food was ready to refund me . I wanted to blow everything out of proportion cause that was rude as hell. I was trying the place because my job needed nice places to try to feed 50+ people, WONT BE RECOMMENDING OR LEAVING A GOOD REVIEW

Was in town on a business trip and randomly picked this place to eat. I will say that it was better than any hibachi that we have where i live 4 hours away. Food was great! Staff was friendly. Server forgot to bring me my salad, but I won’t hold it against them. The soup, rice, noodles, steak, and shrimp were plenty and all delicious.

Out of all the states I have been to this is by far my favorite hibachi place to come to. The staff is always friendly. The hibachi chefs are amazing and hilarious. The food is always good every time I have gone there. I really enjoy their sushi. Also especially the no-name role. If you’re looking for a good hibachi restaurant, I highly suggest this one!!!

Food was not fresh when we attended. Sushi was so foul tasting we immediately decided to send it back and not ask for a replacement dish. Salad was ok. Yelp reviews are far more accurate as this is not anywhere close to a 4 star restaurant

Been coming here for years. They did some remodeling and it looks phenomenal, very classy and modern. New menus new food new management. We came to celebrate a birthday and they gave free dessert. Our server also offered free samples of nigiri. Awesome experience, will be back soon

Loved my experience here tonight. My waitress was a gorgeous girl helping from the Sulphur location and she was so sweet and helpful. My partner and I stopped here as a spur of the moment thing, we originally went to sit near the hibachi, but it was a bit loud, so we sat in a quieter section. It was very peaceful and romantic. I had the calamari which was excellent. By the way, the octopus sashimi was so good omg, which I will say it has been my favorite octopus I’ve ever had so far. I originally ordered one plate but got a second because of how delicious it was. My boyfriend really enjoyed his hibachi, and the sushi was great. I used to come here a lot as a kid and I’m so glad to see it’s still running after all these years. Compliments to the chef at this has been my favorite seafood so far, and my waitress was so sweet I love her to death!! Those if you complaining that this is “2 star” food sound really entitled. What you get here is good for the price, and the environment is so lovely.
