Wow. This has been on my want to go list for awhile, it surpassed my expectations! The sushi was so flavorful and fresh. Everything from the sushi rice to the tempura to the raw fish rolls. We got all the classic rolls BUY ONE GET ONE. We got 7 rolls for $42…. One was a chef special roll everything was amazing, I CAN’T WAIT TO COME BACK!!!! (We went late on a Sunday night and NO ONE was there, this place is a hidden gem!!)

With tons to choose from, their sushi menu always impresses us. Each time we’ve been here we try something new, and it’s always tasty. They have delicious appetizers too, we recommend the gyoza obviously, but their tofu appetizers are delicious as well. My girlfriend really likes the steamed tofu, it comes with some special sauce that’s very tasty.
The service is always quick, and the dining room has a nice atmosphere with relaxing music playing.

I tried this place for the first time today & got the chicken hibachi lunch. Wasn’t pleased that the salad was solely lettuce (with no dressing), the soup was just broth, it was white rice and not fried (I’ve always had hibachi come with fried) & the chicken/veggies portion wasn’t much. Kyoto has been a go-to sushi place for me for years now. They have the absolute best fried rice (my fav is the house special) and white tuna sushi around! I enjoy trying different sushi rolls from time to time and they have a huge selection (whole other menu not pictured). While they have a small dining area with impressively clean bathrooms, I prefer to get carry out.

This was our go-to staple for the past 10+ years. Changes happen, we get that, but this one is not a good change. There’s a new owner/management and staff. The food quality has significantly gone downhill. The prices have increased. We recently picked up an order. Our usual, Salmon Tartar, a few rolls plus miso soup. The sushi was watery. The tartar was haphazardly put together and did not look right. We called the restaurant to see if they could remake or resolve the issues and did not receive a kind reply. We threw out our entire meal, as it was not edible.

I’ve always been a fan of Kyoto—it’s one of the better sushi spots in town, and the food is consistently fresh and flavorful. The specialty rolls we received on this visit were no exception.

Unfortunately, the service during my recent pickup experience was very disappointing. I ordered 12 specialty rolls but only received 10. Most disappointing was the staff member assembling the orders, he was unwelcoming and rushed, showing little regard for guests. It felt more like a transaction than customer service—no acknowledgment of the error and certainly no apology.

I called back to request a refund for the missing rolls and spoke with the same person. They were dismissive, barely let me speak, and said they couldn’t issue a refund unless I came back to the restaurant. A simple solution could’ve been to cancel and reprocess the order correctly, but they weren’t willing to work with me.

For $17.90 and a lack of basic customer care, they lost a loyal customer. Great food can only go so far when the service doesn’t match.
