Disappointing Steak & Shrimp Fried Noodles
I ordered the fried noodles with steak and shrimp in person and specifically requested the steak be cooked rare. The staff acknowledged the request, so I had high hopes.
Unfortunately, when I got back to my hotel and opened the container, the steak was cooked well-done—dry, tough, and very chewy. (MThe shrimp were also overcooked and rubbery. The noodles themselves were decent, but the proteins were so overdone that I ended up picking them out and only eating the noodles. For the price, it was really disappointing. The girl who took my order was very nice and even wrote “RARE” clearly on the ticket (I saw her do it), so this wasn’t her fault at all.
I get that takeout can sometimes lead to carry-over cooking, but going from rare to well-done is a big miss, especially when the request was made face-to-face.

I placed an online order but needed to make a slight modification due to an allergy. I called before I placed my order since I noticed there was not a space to add a note. They were friendly and a happy to note my modification once my order came over. I ordered the steak hibachi lunch with fried rice and veggies, I added a full order of noodles, and extra yum yum sauce. My order was accurate, even with my modification. The portions were generous. I had leftovers which reheated nicely.
Will definitely order again next time I’m in the area for work.

I went to lunch with my coworker and we both grabbed the lunch special for $9.95 which is Hibachi-meat of your choice, rice and vegetables and soup or soda. I got chicken with rice and she grabbed steak with rice. For the price it was a pretty good deal, she loved her food but it tasted as expected in my opinion…like fast food. The chicken was fresh and juicy but I was a little disappointed in the sauce. There wasn’t much of it and it tasted like soy sauce vs teriyaki sauce. It was salty not sweet. We will be back though to try other items on the menu.

Placed a pickup order, build your own poke bowl. The place appeared clean and well maintained. The initial appearance of my poke bowl looked great. Unfortunately they use only iceberg lettuce, big blocks of it. Typically, poke bowls have spring mix/mixed greens. They also added cucumbers, which I’m allergic to, and I purposely did not select as an item in the bowl. Otherwise, the food was fresh and tasted good. Wanted to give an honest review, but I don’t mean to hurt any feelings.
**Edited my review regarding the owners response. Updating your online menu after the fact was a great idea, but trying to say “lettuce and cucumber” was listed when I placed that order to make it appear that I was confused, is a sad attempt at an apology (not that one was needed). I’ve added photos of my order as well as photos of your menu, including the printed menu that was mailed to us that clearly doesn’t say “lettuce and cucumber” next to the “green mix” option. In the future, a simple apology for customers’ inconvenience would suffice. Best of luck with your business!

Amount of food, value and taste were superb. I got a lunch meal with steak. It was lovely. Quick and fresh. The interior is basic and clean and I will definitely be back. I had the second half for dinner. I got a miso soup with it as well you had the option for a salad.

The food is meh….it is well priced for what you get, but honestly, I’d skip it. The service was good and everyone was kind. If you decide to go for lunch, it does get busy. I did not eat in the restaurant but there are not a lot of tables available. It does give a pick up vibe more than a sit down restaurant.

Want to escape the busy hustle and nourish your body with healthy, delicious food, but you’re pressed for time? Want to make sure that your dollars are well spent? This is the place for you! Their salmon poke bowl is generously portioned with so many toppings: cucumber, seaweed salad, avocado, pineappple, edamame, and ginger slices, all on a bed of either brown or white rice. I can make two meals out of this bowl, but it’s so good, I end up finishing it every time. Don’t miss out on the Thai Boba tea – brings a smile to my face every time and keeps me energized through a busy afternoon!

Was ordering here every other week but the prices have gone up and they charge a huge premium for menu items depending if they are delivery or in store. The value just isn’t there any longer. They closed for a month or so without explanation, maybe this was one of the new changes.
In store just a couple months ago, the 2 meat hibachi meal was $17. It’s now $19. If you get it delivered the price for the same meal is $26. That’s almost a 40% increase…and there is also a delivery charge and tip asked of you.
It is now cheaper to order delivery from a full service hibachi restaurant that offers more options. The value is gone from what should be an express no-frills hibachi restaurant.

Another really great place. The lady at the counter is super nice and helpful. She even remembers my order from 3 weeks prior. Food is delicious and filling. And if you prefer, healthy as well.

I wanted to stop in for a quick lunch and try this new place out, and it did not disappoint. I grabbed a salmon poke bowl. The salmon was fresh and delicious, the sides were also fresh tasting. Some other people ordered the hibachi and it also looked very good. Really good place to sit and eat a quick lunch or order to go. I will be frequenting Kyoto Express more often on my lunch break.
