After eating 3 thought the weird taste was just the sauce… I was wrong the shrimp had a film like freezer burn Nothing like driving 12 hour’s to end up with no dinner because i can’t do food poisoning and haul freight… $25 in the trash….

Charles was so kind. We moved down across the street and have always wanted to try the restaurant. Charles suggested teriyaki chicken so we ordered that and got some orange chicken and beef egg rolls. It was super yummy aside from that the inside was very clean and they even had living plants growing along side the tile bordering the windows. Very nice shadded and ventilated environment I recommend to anyone. The owners have been here for 38 years so it’s great

I was in the area and crossed my fingers that this location was still open. It had been at least 20 years since my last visit. To my amazement, it was. The food remains to be the best flavor of all the teriyaki chicken restaurants in AZ. The whole shopping complex has changed, and Kyoto has stood true. Great flavor and excellent service. That’s what stands the test of time, and Kyoto delivers all that one would expect. Still the best!!!! I can’t wait to share this experience with my kids.

Atmosphere was super cute but the food- all of the food is clearly not made fresh, clearly reheated in the microwave, potstickers included which were goopy instead of crispy. Minute rice instead of fresh and please be careful with ordering sushi here, you might get sick.

Stopped in after many years away.
This use to be a regular lunch spot near work. You never know how places will stand up over the course of time. I was pleased at the quality of the food. Just as I remember it if not a little better. It’s refreshing to see that the same owners still own and operate after all of these years. Will be back.

Expensive and laughable portions. Food literally smelt weird and had an awful flavor. Took multiple bites and drenched it in soy sauce before just giving up on it.

My husband and I got takeout orders. He got a teriyaki chicken with fried rice. The man told us it would be a little extra for substituting white rice with fried rice. They would not do half-and-half on the side, so I got an orange chicken with all noodles and we took it home and shared it. The price on the menu was $12.49 for the large bowl But somehow two bowls with the substitutions wound up being $33.60. Before I knew how big they were, I put the rest of the change in the tip jar to make it $35 spent. The amount of meat on each bowl was not very much. The teriyaki chicken had a really thick sauce that was not good. The bowl was mostly rice or noodles. The orange chicken was the same. There was a little bit of chicken on top one layer and then the whole bottom of the bowl was noodles.. I do not recommend. I guess I’m used to occasionally getting panda and their portion sizes are much larger and the amount of meat is much more. I feel bad because I wanted to support a small business.

This place NEVER disappoints on their food! Delicious everytime and worth a visit whenever I get home from the road.
If I had to have a complaint, it would be that I was under a time constraint and showed up when they were supposed to open and no one was there. Traffic issues and shortage of employees were the reason, and it ultimately worked out in the end.

Food was a little salty for my taste. Made fresh but the sauce has changed from a while back. Customer service was good.
