Its our first time coming to this Kyoto Japanese Restaurant. We decided to get a bite and im craving for hot soup. JDs order the steak and chicken meal. It came with miso soup, ginger salad and mine was Uden beef soup and spribg roll. It was good and customer service was exceptional. So with all that said I will give them 5 stars.

Food was absolutely horrible. Spent about $51. Steak was inedible- hard as a rock, the 8 pieces I got. Chicken tasted better but I got about 6 pieces. I spent $20.00 a piece on meals. Both were terrible. I can bring the food back. It was not good. Mostly veggies that look like meat because they are saturated in sauce.

It was our first time dining in and our last. Don’t expect to get much protein from their meal. I was expecting larger scallops or a good quantity if they will give smaller scallops. Here is what they advertise and what you actually get. My order was done but my family’s hibachi orders took forever. By the time I was done we just asked them to pack it up to go. The hibachi cook was doing multiple orders to go and dine in at once. Here is a photo of him lining up about 10 meals. Does the manager tell these cooks about the timing of bringing food to customers? The price was expensive for the terrible and horrible food. Note: you will have to pay upfront which means if you already tip these waitresses—they are not going to help you get your meal faster. The waitress told us she was going to investigate what happened to our meals and instead we saw her go clean a table. When family open up the to go box at home it was packed so messy as if they didn’t care. It was a horrible experience. The steak was horribly seasoned. I can see since the cook was making multiple orders at once for different proteins.

We all enjoyed our food, and the atmosphere was surprisingly cozy and relaxing. The prices are higher than you would expect from a restaurant where you order at the counter, but other then the initial ordering experience the rest of our meal felt like what you would expect at a sit-down restaurant. The sushi was plated well, and they had sushi chefs behind the bar making everything fresh. They have lots of boba tea options. We will definitely be back.

Horrible food!
The sushi was really bad, didn’t like at all!
Spicy tuna roll was extremely spicy! I have eaten at other places and they have they ever made it so unbearable to eat it.
The salmon roll comes with cream cheese (which is amusing they call it “salmon roll” i thought this combination was called boston roll. I ordered this thinking it was JUST salmon either way it did not taste very good. The seaweed salad comes with half the bowl of lettuce and topped off with seaweed but you pay the full price and it did not taste good at all. Overall experience was mediocre and will never come back.

Food was pretty good. Was more of a fast food hibachi / sushi restaurant. Good for on the run. I didn’t Like the fact that’s it’s “to go” and they give you a tip “option” but there’s 15% 18% 20% and other? There’s no “no tip” option. I’m sorry but why would I tip before I even get to see my food. Especially if it’s to go. That’s why I’m giving a 3 instead of 4.

It was Sunday afternoon just before a long commute and we were motivated to find some Japanese style eats before getting on the road. Thanks to Google Maps, we found Kyoto and were curious to give it a try!
Upon entering around 2:30pm ot seemed we would have nearly the whole place to ourselves! I noticed on their door information that their happy hour is from 4pm-6pm.
I noticed a large menu posted as we walked in. We quickly realized that guests are meant to order at the counter then choose their seat, bringing their table number to our seat for food to be delivered.
We decided on the Softshell Crab appetizer, some miso soup and we gave several sushi rolls a try! All was delivered to us with perfection! Very, very good! Every bite was satisfying.
The dining room began to fill up as the time edged toward 4pm and as we were deep in conversation after the seaweed salad and sushi had since been devoured. I see now how those locals who know about this little gem wait until 4pm to arrive, when everything coded with an “HH” on the menu is discounted. That is the trade-off, I suppose. I enjoyed their large dining room during our meal without many, many different parties and tables contributing to the overall decibel level of their wide-open space.
I was impressed with the food given we were a little uneasy with counter ordering upon arrival our first time in. I see the beauty in this, now, though. Our food runner was cordial and went out of his way to ensure we had what we desired. Also, way to score a home run between the kitchen and the sushi chef!
Perhaps I’ll try there happy hour next time and feel free to try many a different splendid sushi things.
Thanks Kyoto! If we return, Sundays will be the day. Can’t wait to try more of your menu!

A bit different as you have to order the food first however I think that takes away the waste of time between the server and the patrons and moves that time ahead of the seating.
Very nice environment and casual. Beef stir fry was a bit chewy than expected but overall tasted ok.
The sushi was up to expectation. We has crazy roll.
The udon beef soup was also a good one. I am told they also have great drink options. If that’s something you like for your lunch or dinner.
