The experience was very disappointing. The drink did not match the photo, while it was advertised with red bean on top, mine was clearly placed at the bottom. When I asked for a remake, the staff refused and claimed the red bean sank, which doesn’t make sense since it would float on ice. The staff’s attitude was also rude. Additionally, both the matcha float and matcha towel cake lacked matcha flavor and tasted way overly sweet. Since they placed red bean on the bottom, all I tasted on matcha float was red bean, the red bean was supposed to eaten with ice cream tho. For the portion size, the prices are unreasonably high. Very disappointing overall.

After shopping at Trader Joe’s, I casually passed by this shop. As a matcha lover, I was immediately drawn to it. I’ve loved matcha for almost ten years now, and I’ve tried many different matcha products in China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
This time, I ordered a Matcha Latte using the self-service ordering machine in the store. I originally wanted it hot, but unfortunately, the machine’s screen was very unresponsive, so the order ended up being for a cold drink with less ice.
I usually rarely give negative reviews because running a food and beverage business isn’t easy. However, this matcha latte was extremely bland; I could only taste the iced milk. If I closed my eyes while drinking it, I wouldn’t even think I was having a “matcha” drink .
Maybe next time I pass by, I’ll try a cake as others mentioned in the reviews, but I won’t be trying any drinks again.

Have loved visiting Kyo Matcha for various tasty treats over the years, and they consistently deliver quality all around! I also think their location, situated in cozy, charming Rockville Town Square, makes a huge upside difference for the experience, especially in summer, with the kids splash fountains (see pics)! Go out with the family and see for yourself! Cheers!

Our go to place for when we want treats without the guilt! The portion size is perfect , Matcha ice cream is 8/10 , the strawberry cream cake is 10/10 and the matcha latte is 10/10. Their desserts look really pretty with the perfect amount of sweetness, and you don’t feel heavy or unhealthy after eating them!

A great spot! It’s connected to the BobaBop milk tea shop, which is a nice bonus. The inside has plenty of seating for dine-in, and it’s located in Town Square, so there’s also lots of outdoor seating with tables and chairs to enjoy the area.
The service was fast and friendly, and you can order either through a self-service machine or directly at the cashier.

We frequent here about once a week! Always great service. The consistency is what keeps us coming back. We usually just get the half/ half soft serve and whatever toppings we are the in the mood for. The beverages are okay I tried a few but nothing worth raving over.

Love love love this place! This is one of my favorite spots to come, and wind down with a sweet treat! All the food and drinks they offer are so so yummy. My personal favorite is the creme brûlée iced latte and the oolong crepe cake. Soft serve ice cream was also amazinggg. It’s also has a pretty interiors, perfect for a matcha and cake date. Also make sure to use the app to get points, this place is a little pricey!
