We went for Valentine’s Day and it was absolutely wonderful.

We chose the Valentine’s tasting menu and every single course was beautifully presented and full of flavor. From the oysters and sashimi to the perfectly cooked lamb and the heart-shaped dessert, everything felt thoughtfully curated for the occasion. The presentation was stunning, elegant, artistic, and romantic, truly worthy of a special night.

The ambiance was warm and intimate, and the little details (like the rose on the table) made the evening feel even more special. The service was attentive and professional without being intrusive, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable.

It was the perfect place to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We left impressed and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for a date night or any special occasion.

We got the 30 piece Maki chefs special, and the calamari for food, and a Kyoto Fizz, and Taiyo. We loved everything. Both of us got to try all of the sushi, and there were no misses. The sushi was fantastic, a large variety, of tuna, salmon, cucumber, crab, and shrimp with avocado, seaweed, rice, and more. The calamari was amazing too, perfectly crispy and fried without too much. It had a deep, exquisite flavor too. The drinks were the “worst part” but they were still good. Just expensive, as is typical for cocktails though. Our server, who’s name we missed, was great too. We discussed things to do in Montreal, the jazz fest, other restaurants we’d recently visited, and more. His love for Montreal and the food scene here was evident and reflects great on Kyo too. Overall, it was a great great time

A great restaurant with some fantastic dishes and beers! Ed, Jacob, and Jesse all served us throughout the night and they were fantastic to speak to as they provided great recommendations for drink and food, along with great conversation.

The beers being opened tableside and poured was a level of service I haven’t experienced in quite some time from a restaurant. It was greatly appreciated. Being a vegetarian, Jacob recommended the Yami Yami roll that was one of the best sushi dishes I have ever had, hands down. The spicy edamame, miso soup, and vegetarian dumplings were all amazing choices as well. They weren’t overfilling or overpowering in quantity and seasoning, respectively.

The Hitachino beers were all so good and a great way to compliment the dishes if you enjoy beer with distinct flavor profiles. Normally, I’m only used to Sapporo as my home province has very little offering in the way of Japanese beer. The Hito White, Lager, Damidami, and Red Rice were all so unique but complimentary to the food. The taste was quite noticeable but subtle at the same time; each one was in its own way fantastic. I cannot emphasize enough how well they paired with the food that was served. I truly respect a restaurant that can elevate the experience by pairing drinks so effectively with the food.

The entire restaurant is beautifully laid out. It felt like the prohibition met rustic-modern, and had a baby. It really provided a wonderful atmosphere to spend the evening so close to attractions like the Notre Dame Cathedral and La Grande Roue!

Enjoyed a great dining experience at Kyo. Really happy with our choice to come here and try a variety of dishes and drinks. Every bite was excellent, great quality beef and the fish/sashimi were the star of the night. Worth the price for our special occasion.

The food was absolutely delicious! I had mentioned my gluten intolerance in advance, and when I arrived, the staff already knew and were fully prepared. They provided gluten-free soy sauce and a wonderful sashimi salad; so fresh and flavorful. In hindsight, I probably would’ve enjoyed a bit of rice on the side, but that’s on me for not asking.

The edamame were tasty, though I would’ve liked a touch more salt. Since we were dining as a group, I really appreciated how well our server managed everything: friendly, attentive, and efficient.

They even brought me gluten free dessert which I had NOT expected. And it tasted so good too, than was an extra treat for me.

Overall, a great experience from start to finish. No complaints at all!

Nice experience at Kyo. Had dinner and tried a few different dishes. Sashimi was fresh, the rolls were creative. Agedashi tofu was a little too oily but still good. Our waiter was nice and professional.

Second time coming, and I highly recommend this spot! Amazing for both an hang out and date night.

Our order for two people came to $150 because we ordered a bottle of wine with dinner, but it was worth the money.

Jacob was an amazing sever who made our experience even more memorable 🙂
