I also ordered chicken tinola, but unfortunately, it didn’t taste good at all. It was very different from the usual tinola I’m used to, and I was honestly disappointed with it. The only dish I truly enjoyed that night was the beef caldereta—that one was flavorful and cooked just right. Even the rice they served was hard and not properly cooked, which made the meal less enjoyable.
To make things worse, the music at the place was extremely loud—it felt like my eardrums were about to burst. It was hard to enjoy the food and have a conversation because of the noise. Overall, it wasn’t the best dining experience, but at least the caldereta saved the night a little.
Wife is Filipino and said this is by far the best Filipino food she has ever ordered in a restaurant.
We ordered the fried platter and my wife was in heaven. We all ate to much lol. I’m not a big fan of some of the food but the clean plate picture posted was mine:).
Great place. Definitely on our go to list when we come back this side.
Chicken BBQ:
10 out of 10. Good flavor. Chicken was tender.
Pancit Canton:
8 out of 10. Good flavor. Not enough for the price. Overall taste was good. Would order again.
Chicken Adobo: 6 out of 10. Didn’t have enough flavor. Was just mild overall. Not enough chicken. So was just ok.
Prices: not cheap not expensive. But the portions are small. Flavor was overall good. But they could punch it up a bit on all the dishes we had.
My sister bought a book just to have a photo with Mr. David Pomeranz. She got her wish.
Whoever is the event coordinator, do better next time.
The only thing that wasn’t eaten was the lettuce leaf that was used as a garnish so it’s evident that my family and I enjoyed the food. I will certainly return.
We had multiple dishes between four of us – some I didnt get pictures if. I do remember trying the grilled octopus, which was my least fav dish. It was very charred which my coworker told me is the filipino way, but it was to hard to chew for me. I could get past the charred but maybe if it was cut into smaller pieces? Instead of one whole tentacle.
My favorite dish was the dessert. I’ve never tasted anything like that. The aloe cubes & kidney beans surprised me. It was delicious.
Overall recommend.
We ordered 4 scoops of rice, Lechon Kawali, dinakdakan, sinigang nan bangus and fresh lumpia. The fresh lumpia was so good! It was delicious and the flavors were perfect! Not too over powering or too sweet, it was just right! The lechon kawali was tender and fried to perfection! The pieces weren’t too hard but still gave that perfect satisfying crunch. The dinakdakan had so much flavor and veggies without over doing it and the dish was just perfect! The rice was cooked perfect and the sinigang had amazing flavor, not too strong but just right! And when you take that first sip, you feel that weight lifted off your shoulders because it reminds you of a simpler time.. everything was amazing! Delicious and comforting!
