I am usually not a fan of belt sushi, but I imagine this is close to what an experience in japan would be like. Lots of the things to order and price is pretty good. Be carefully since it all adds up.

I love Kura! Let’s me try so many more different things thanks to the small plates, as a single person it’s hard to do that at other sushi restaurants!

Came on a Thursday for lunch. it was 1pm and the wait was 25-30 minutes for a table. You can put your name down and walk around the village until they call you, though I feel that the call you back way too early. We came back after walking for 10 minutes and we had to wait another 15 minutes on the bench outside.

I’ve eaten at the branch in Brea, and it’s not bad! Little Tokyo also waited for 1 hour last time, and today it took 50 minutes to eat. The fish was not bad, I ate 13 plates.

3/8/23 – My buddy and I visited Los Angeles and when we got to Japanese Village Plaza, it was lunch time. We were looking for a place to eat and found this place. It was both of our first time eating at a revolving sushi bar. It was a fun experience. Sushi tasted fresh and great. Most of the sushi dish on the belt was nigiri, which is what I like to way. There is a variety of sushi available. You can also order food on the screen like ramen, sushi rolls, deserts. The only downside would be it can be costly as eating a lot of plates can add up quickly. Overall, great experience and fun experience.

First time ever to a revolving sushi bar. I took my friend for his birthday and we were amazed! Such a cool place! Affordable, great portions, such kind staff (yea, including the server robot). Hard working chefs!

Kura adds novelty to sushi and is a popular choice in the Japanese Village Plaza. This place can get very busy but we waited 20 minutes on a Monday evening. Eating at Kura is very simple, just grab what you want from the conveyor belt or order directly from the screen. I’d say ordering from the screen gives you the freshest option but picking from the conveyor belt let’s you pick the best looking piece. Kura is great for sushi beginners because they have a lot of variations on the more tame, less fishy items like tuna and salmon, and also serve many cooked pieces like seared or baked items. And if they give up on sushi entirely, they still have other entrees to order.

It was a long wait time (as expected) but we used that time to walk around and look at shops in the area. And then once we were seated the service was fast and friendly. The food was so delicious it was hard to stop grabbing more plates. Revolving sushi bars are so much fun! Also being able to order other items from the touch screen menus they have was easy. Wonderful experience.
