Family loved the whole experience, enjoyed the food and were thoroughly entertained. Spent a little over an hour all together, ordered about 45 plates total.
There was a good range of the standard and creative sushi, sides, alternatives and sweets. The sushi were fresh with the high turnover of a full restaurant.
Each seat or table gets its own tablet for ordering and plate counter/disposal. When a dish is ordered, it’s either delivered via the serving belt above or the robot, so staff are only there to handle what isn’t automated. I couldn’t or didn’t see what each plate costs…? ♀️
Conclusion: an efficient service model that reduces manual handling, good range of options.
Just be aware: the portions are small, so you might not feel how much you’ve eaten until the plates pile up I ended up with 17 plates and a total bill of $74.44 ,, but honestly, I had a great time and left happy. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the mood for sushi and a nice vibe!
All the plates are the same price, which makes it easy for first-timers. I usually smash around 10 to 15 plates when I visit. If you hit 15, you get a little prize nothing major, maybe a keychain or a sticker, but it’s a fun bonus.
Some of my go-to items are the Hokkaido scallop, American wagyu (gunkan style), seared scallop with Japanese mayo, sea bream with yuzu pepper, and the yuzu jalapeño sweet shrimp. Also, the wasabi mix here is fire — super potent and actually has a kick.
Kura’s definitely one of those spots I enjoy from time to time when I want a quick no frills , casual sushi fix.
