Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The sushi rice was perfectly seasoned, the fish tasted clean and high quality, and the menu offered a great mix of classic rolls and creative combinations. We especially liked how easy it was to order additional items through the touch screen and have them zoom right out on the express belt—super quick and convenient!
The restaurant was spotless, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole vibe was lively without feeling rushed. We also loved the little rewards for returning your empty plates—it keeps things lighthearted and fun. Whether you’re a sushi lover or just looking for a cool dining experience, Kura Sushi is worth checking out. We’ll definitely be coming back the next time we’re in DC!
On 12/7/2025 around 11:30am, I called the Washington DC Kura Revolving Sushi to ask if they still had the Kirby mugs. I was told yes. When we arrived and asked again before being seated, we were told yes again. Because of that confirmation, we drove 30 minutes to the DC location, bypassing another Kura Sushi just 5 minutes away — we specifically chose to travel farther based on their promise.
We spent $111, well above the $85 promo threshold, under the belief that the mugs were available. At checkout, we were told the mugs were gone the day before. Staff admitted it was their mistake and offered to make it right with a Kirby blanket after 1/14/2026, writing it on the receipt.
On 1/14/2026, we returned for the promised resolution. The blanket was not even in the store due to shipping delays, and the manager outright refused to honor the promise, claiming it was “made personally by the waiter” and stating that even if the blanket arrived later, they would never give it to me.
To make matters worse, they told us that the only way to receive the promised blanket would be to spend another $85+. After already spending $111 based on their confirmed promise, this is absurd. During the confrontation, I pointed out their repeated incompetence and broken promises, and the manager gaslighted me, attempting to turn my awareness of their mistakes into a personal accusation.
This experience is not about a Kirby blanket — it’s about being misled, having a documented promise ignored, being asked to spend additional money to fix their mistake, and having a manager refuse to acknowledge the facts while blaming the customer. The wasted time, effort, and money makes this location completely untrustworthy. Customers should be aware before relying on anything the staff says.

So cool that DC has a revolving sushi restaurant! This one is just as good and so much cheaper than Sima Sushi. All the sushi I had were delicious, but they are pretty pricy. My friend and I went in with an empty stomach and we each paid $52. The place is not that big, so you probably have to wait if you come during popular times. Would definitely come back again!
