Reviews
We spent around $140 for two people, and the quality was worse than supermarket sashimi.
The snow crab nigiri was not fully thawed. I could literally feel ice crystals while eating it. This is unacceptable in any restaurant.
The aji (Spanish mackerel) nigiri was the worst I’ve ever had. Extremely fishy to the point that I couldn’t finish it, which is disappointing because I normally love aji. This indicates serious freshness or handling issues.
Several fish items tasted dull and watery, clearly affected by freezing and improper thawing.
Southern Bluefin toro with a dull texture that clearly suggested excessive freezing.
Salmon toro had uneven fat distribution and a watery, mushy texture instead of the expected buttery mouthfeel.
Yellowtail tasted flat and soft.
What really pushed this experience over the edge was the “tantan tonkotsu ramen.”
It was sweet and tasted like peanut butter. This is not tonkotsu. Real tonkotsu broth is pork-bone based, savory, and rich, NOT SWEET AND NUTTY. Calling this tonkotsu is misleading.
I understand this is a chain and expectations should be adjusted, but food safety (ice crystals), freshness, and basic authenticity should not be optional. At this price point, this experience was incredibly disappointing.
I won’t be returning.
For the price they’re charging, you can go to a nicer restaurant for better quality and service. Not to mention, they let someone in with a dog! Dog was definitely NOT a service animal because of its behavior but they didn’t say anything and allowed it. They need to do better. Especially with the way food is presented and served. Also, we saw a few times some of the foods were open on the belt… 9O% of the belt was empty to.
Overall, wouldn’t recommend unless you’re prepared to pay $$ just for your kids to have some fun & leave still hungry and unsatisfied. Also expect to wait outside in the cold in the fall/winter, or the heat in summer. There’s no external shelter for you and no wait space inside at all.
There are many food options. I tried sushi and sashimi plates, and they were all tasty ! I didn’t care for the mochi, but everything else was great.
This place is clean, modern and unique!
I’ll definitely come back to try something new.
