Just had an incredible dinner last week at Kumo in Greenwood and I can’t stop thinking about how amazing everything was. From the moment we sat down, our server Gede made us feel right at home—super attentive, friendly, and on point with everything we needed.
But the real star of the night was our hibachi chef, Luigi. He was an absolute showman—funny, engaging, and incredibly skilled. The way he cooked right in front of us was entertaining and impressive, and the food? Next-level delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection, the shrimp were juicy and flavorful, and the fried rice had the perfect balance of texture and taste.
Everything came out fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. You can really tell they care about both the experience and the quality of the food here. If you’re looking for a great night out with amazing service, delicious hibachi, and a fun atmosphere— KUMO is it.
Huge shoutout to Chef Luigi and Gede for making our night unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back!

Came in for dinner. We did hibachi and ordered some sushi as well. The hostess was rude and had no manners. Not even a “hi” when we walked in. Didn’t say a word to us. Very off-putting when immediately just getting there. Our server and chef however, were excellent. Very attentive. The food was fresh and plentiful.

absolutely amazing experience at Kumo Greenwood! we walked right in with no wait and everyone was so friendly from the moment we got there. our chef is Lugi, he is iconic with his “Yuhuu” it was so fun to watch and the food was incredible, fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. the staff is attentive and you can tell they really care about making every guest feel welcome. 10/10 recommend for a great night out or a great meal to take home!

I am updating my review. They took care of the problem and the individual no longer is at the location. I stopped in today hoping that’s what I would find. So glad to be able to come back and enjoy the outstanding food and service again!

This is a shame that I even have to write this review. I really liked this place and ate here frequently until today. As I was sitting in my usual spot at the sushi prep seating I watched a young sushi chef whom I have never seen before cleaning his fingernails with the knife he used to prep the food with. Not trying to hide it, not stepping away from the prep area right under his hands. I am so disappointed that I witnessed this and wish I didn’t. I am really going to miss coming here as there has always been amazing service, food and always greated with a smile.

I’d like to start, by giving huge props to the service workers at Kumo. Courteous and patient on our first visit. Had space when needed, and they checked in periodically at perfect intervals. Food was great, pictures posted. And the atmosphere was super chill. No server seemed unhappy, and although we took a seat at a booth instead of with a live cook, we were able to enjoy the showmanship from afar. I would recommend the establishment to any who enjoy authentic Japanese food.
Final note, we were unable to finish our meals and forgot the to-go containers. Our server brought the food out the door, ran up to us, and made sure we got it. Well done.

I went to Kumo for lunch with a friend on a Sunday. It was very quiet because we went when it opened at 12. My friend had sushi and I had a sashimi bento. Both were very good. I was sad I couldn’t finish the bento! The plum wine was also great! Very sweet and smooth.

This is a great restaurant superb quality amazing service. Every time we come to hibachi chefs are always a treat to watch they keep you on your toes keep you entertained and the food which is prepared right in front of you is delicious. The sushi bar is my favorite where the sushi chefs Are very interactive with you. Super friendly, replaces very professional. The sushi is top-notch grade A1 great for a casual dinner date night or a big party. I highly recommend KUMO for any occasion. I always get excited when we plan to eat here

This place has fantastic sushi, awesome atmosphere, and friendly staff. Try the Spicy Stuffer and Rock N Roll, both are flash fried and excellent! They have it down and is still my favorite place for Sushi. Loved the spring rolls as well and not to mention, the sample shot of Saki. Kumo is a definite must try.

Used to live in Indy and went to this all the time. We still go up there and eat here when we get a chance. will love the food the sushi is the probably the best sushi we’ve ever had in a place you can get cooked Sushi and raw sushi they have the best sweet potato Sushi if you ever get a chance and you don’t want to have real meat. Awesome very fun atmosphere love the hibachi grills they have.

So I was welcomed with a a greeting that I will have to pay 18% gratitude before I could be seated! Upon agreeing I was seated! I asked for water with lemon and a lemon drop with tequila.. after being asked 4 times if that’s what I want I was told if I didn’t like it I wouldn’t be able to return it!! Which was weird and is not gonna happen! If I don’t like anything I will return!! Next I waited 30 mins before they started preparing the meal I requested after being asked questioned about my choice of meal order!! After having my food be prepared I had the joy of watching the bust boy clean around my food while I ate because they close at 3pm!!!
