Service was friendly but not very attentive, and the ambiance was just okay—simple and nothing fancy. Overall, it’s a place you could try once, especially if you’re in the mood for authentic South Indian food on a lazy day.
friendly and service is quick. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves good food.
I feel guilty that Google might be penalizing this review for not experiencing the Service or Atmosphere. I have rated them 5 but they should be N/A.
My son has hit 18. For the last year and a half or so he’s been trying new tastes. Tonight he asked, “Can we get Indian?”. “Yes!”, we said, loving the cuisine.
With regret to Kumar’s it was the 2-for-1 CTM that made my decision. Sometimes luck comes your way.
Food on arrival was well packaged and very warm. Maybe our Dasher is a Neuromancer fan? 🙂 Flavors were amazing. Just a white guy but not my first Indian food rodeo. Didn’t want to push my son too far so CTM, Daal, and Saag Paneer. Added some veg Samosa and garlic Naan on the side. — Could not have expected better.
CTM could be argued to use more chicken but I had made rice and couldn’t have cared less. (Also 2-for-1. Kumar’s, never stop that deal!!). Daal was the rich, creamy thing I love. Saag Paneer had large chunks of cheese and was smooth and spicy (as was the green chutney. I didn’t get a coconut taste so maybe a simpler hari chutney? Still amazing.)
5/5. Will be ordering again soon.
Chennai Chilli Chicken, Chennai Chilli prawns, Masala Omlette, Masala Dosa and Thalapakatti Mutton biriyani is a must try.
Their Masala Dosa, along with sambar and tomato chutney tasted good. The sambar was too good when compared with the A2B, which I recently tried in Chicago.
Mutton Soup was very good and Mutton pieces inside the Soup were so tender.
All the dishes are served on top of Banana leaves which is unique in this restaurant.
Will keep updating this review after my future visits.
On Aug 5th 2023, visited again and had non veg meals this time.
Non veg meals for lunch, Meals had 2 mini poori’s, Boneless chilli chicken, Fish gravy, chicken gravy, mutton gravy, Sambar, Rasam, Curd, Vegetables, Papad and pickle. All the non veg gravies had one bite size meat in it. Sambar and rasam was really good. Had a good Indian food after a long time.
Mysore masala dosa no taste.
After waiting for seating. Long wait foor serving. Everyone is served after one had finished. And that too after this wait food was served cold.
Prantha’s are frozen microwaved but served cold.
Service is extremely poor long wait is owing to mismanaged table service. Host are extremely forgetful And no 1 in giving excuses.
Didn’t had such bad service experience in a while.
To point in returning or bringing any guest or party here.
I think Dosa items are safest way
Keep in mind. Bill INCLUDES TIP. We didn’t realize that and paid additional 18% ( total about $50) in tips .
So review carefully.
Went for dinner on a weekend. While we were having dinner it got busy and the wait time was longer. Service was okay, they need a few more people especially during busy hours. Our order went to another table, we received wrong order, we had to wait a long time to get any help.
Coming to food – loved their ghee roast dosas! They were crisp and fresh. The idlis were were soft and warm. My favorite was black pepper shrimp with a dosa!
Overall the food was really fresh and good. Definitely going back
