First time trying Jamaican food, the smell got us there, we were in the shopping center when we walked by. Place is clean and inviting, staff is friendly and helpful if there’s any questions. Food is fresh and flavorful. We order the jerk chicken combo regular, comes with rice and peas and either a fresh salad or steam vegetables, chicken was yummy a bit spicy but great. We also order the pepper steak, which was amazing, well seasoned then we also order fried plantains which we love. Tried their lemonade that had a hint of orange flavor to me, not your regular lemonade. Hubby had to order a beef patty, which was freshly made, super flaky and tasty filling. Would definitely come back to try their Rasta pasta and maybe some other dishes.

First off…..let me give credit where its due-
the flavor of the Curry Goat is spot on and taste is amazing. It is exactly what you are looking for when you think of Jamaican Curry Goat.
Now to the negative- this is our 4th time getting food from Kru Grill and twice we have found hair in the food. We looked past it but mentioned it to the cashier this time around. The cashier brushed it off and said it was Goat hair and it came that way from the Halal meat supplier; mind you we have found hair in the Jerk Chicken as well.
Today, yet again……
We bought Curry Goat after telling the cashier about our experience. Not only did we find hair again but we also found plastic. Not sure what to say anymore but this is the last time we will be buying food here. Sucks because the flavors are amazing. Hats off to the chef but someone needs to wear a hair net in that place and be more mindful of their surroundings as finding plastic in your food is not very safe.

New comfort food spot for me! I had the roti and jerk chicken. It was such a wonderful experience. I could taste the care and attention in preparation and cooking. The food was extremely fresh! The sweet heat of the sauce was very nice. Clean, calm, and enjoyable. I highly recommend this fine establishment.

Stopped in for a quick snack. Tried the spicy beef patty. Absolutely delicious with excellent seasoning. I was sorry that I didn’t buy two instead of just one. The place is clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely stop by again to try their other dishes. Very nice addition to the Berkshire Plaza

Generous portions; which made for both lunch and dinner in my case. Delicious flavor -preferred a little more spicy -nothing a little hot sauce took care of though. I’m definitely down with the Kru. Our favorite spot that we discovered only a couple of months ago and have already been there several times! Their food is delish, fresh, hot and finger-licking good! The staff are very polite and friendly! If you are in a rush, call ahead and place an order. We found that they serve real quick on weekends due to frequent customers but the wait is more than 10-15 minutes on weekend! If you have time on your hand, don’t bother the wait as you’ll get sizzling hot yum jerk chickens! Their jerk chickens are the best! On days we are watching our carbs, we take only the jerk chickens! They have $10-12 bucks lunch option as well which we didn’t try which is quite reasonable these days! Good atmosphere, big and clean seating arrangements! Simply 10/10.

This is our 5th time here. We tried everything. Today we are trying the jerk pork for the first time and also the oxtail for the 3rd time. Soooooooo good! It feels like someone’s grandma is back there cooking the food! Yummy!

Good Jamaican food and not so pricey. Seems like more of a takeout, but they do have enough tables to accommodate 30 people. Good meat beef patties and so so coco bread. Good rice and peas and oxtails. I recommend the large meal that can be for two people versus regular serving. Had the Irish moss, but was slightly disappointed with commercial can version and mostly vanilla taste. Don’t get meat patties late in the day after 6 pm as they are a bit stale and really toasted from sitting in the heating cabinet for a long time as they were preparing to close up for the day. I just wished they would have discounted if they were not fresh or told me they were not optimal. Overall, I would definitely eat there again as I’ve had the oxtails and meat patties midday and afternoon and they have been very satisfying. Good food and I would return and have gone back.

I usually have a couple patties and juice (because I a vegan), however with their new breakfast options I was able to have a meal it was so good.(first pic). Needless to I went back for dinner, the chef definitely hit the spot (new chef). That means a lot coming from me because I’m very hard to please. I’ve been meaning to check out KRU for a few months, and I finally got the chance today — it did not disappoint. The spot is easy to find, the atmosphere is welcoming with great music, and most importantly, the food and service were outstanding.
We had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, Marlon, and it was clear how passionate he is about delivering authentic Jamaican cuisine. I wish I had taken a few photos of the food, but the aroma and presentation were so enticing that I couldn’t resist digging in right away.
Our family ordered the stewed chicken meal, jerk chicken meal, a beef patty, and the homemade lemonade — and we devoured every bite. My 13-year-old even said it was the best takeout he’s ever had.
I’ll definitely be back to support again soon. Highly recommend!
