My daughter picked out a cake on the website & when I got there to pick it up it looked like one of the cakes from the show on Netflix where inexperienced bakers try to make gourmet cakes & fail miserably. The cake pictured was a simple iced cake with icing waves on the top around a mermaid tail. Instead, a cheap graphic (not pictured on the original cake order) was applied lopsided on the top, sloppy icing was bleeding all around the wording, and there was a huge seam where they had spliced two halves together down the middle. Super disappointed with this experience. Customer service said to be assured that “proper conversations would happen”. Whatever that means. Definitely won’t be coming back for any cake orders, and I’m sure no one who attended my daughter’s party will either after seeing it.

If you’re ordering a cake from Kroger, call the Hartselle bakery. They do an amazing job. For general shopping, the Decatur store is adequate.

Hate that this store is going thru renovations. I liked it just fine the way it was before. Now i get lost. Their bakery is typically well-stocked with lots of options. They used to have this bread that was two , over a foot long , sweet Italian loaves in one bag. We always got as i was growing up but when i went in to find some after reminiscing about it, a bakery employee informed me they don’t bake it anymore. Total bummer. Bring back the sweet Italian loaves please!!
