I was called the morning after a snowstorm, informed that my son’s birthday cake (that I had ordered two weeks prior), was not completed. This resulted in me having to scramble to find an alternative approximately five hours prior to party time.
I went to the bakery after the call to see if there was a selection of premade cakes to choose from as an alternative. There wasn’t a lot of options.
While I can understand the weather causing issues with workers being able to come in and products available, what I couldn’t understand was that I saw another customer picking up their custom cake when I was perusing their selection. So I’m now not sure if it was entirely a staffing issue or if my order was overlooked and just forgotten about. No efforts were made to remedy the situation except for giving me the items that were going to be on my ordered cake, and I ended up decorating my son’s cake, myself, after finally finding a plain white cake that would suffice. I will be finding a different bakery to work with, in the future.
