# **Kriss West Indian Restaurant: A Truly Disappointing Experience**
My recent visit to Kriss West Indian Restaurant was, regrettably, one of the most underwhelming experiences I’ve had in a long time. What began with hopeful anticipation for authentic flavors quickly devolved into a frustrating evening marked by abysmal customer service and truly subpar food.
From the moment we stepped through the door, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. We stood awkwardly for several minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence, and even then, it felt like an inconvenience rather than a greeting. Our cashier/server, when she finally took our order, she seemed utterly disinterested. There was no warmth, no offer of recommendations, and certainly no smile. Good customer service can often elevate an average meal, but here, it actively detracted from any potential enjoyment.
Unfortunately, the food did little to redeem the experience. Hoping for a taste of the Caribbean, I ordered the classic Fried Chicken with rice and peas, while my companion opted for the Curry Goat. My fried chicken arrived looking rather unappetizing – pale and lacking the characteristic char and vibrant spice I associate with the dish. One bite confirmed my fears: it was dry, bland, and tasted as though it had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. The accompanying rice and peas were clumpy and underseasoned, and the plantains were greasy and limp, far from the sweet, caramelized perfection they should be. My companion’s curry goat fared no better; the meat was tough, and the curry sauce lacked depth, tasting more like a generic stew than a rich, aromatic West Indian curry.
We left Kriss West Indian Restaurant feeling thoroughly disappointed and out of pocket. THEY ALSO ABOVE ALL NEED TO RETRAIN THEIR SERVERS/CASHIERS I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Kriss West Indian Restaurant to anyone seeking an enjoyable meal or a taste of authentic Caribbean cuisine. There are undoubtedly better options available that value both their customers and the quality of their dishes.

Kriss Jamaican restaurant has the worst customer service ever! The cashiers/servers are always so rude, and whenever you asked them a question or recommendations, they quickly give you an attitude! Why those women are always so angry and has a distasteful look upon their faces, is very unwelcoming! They either needed to be FIRED or RETRAIN. In addition to the HORRIBLE customer service, the food was distasteful, the Curry Goat has no taste, it taste like they didn’t even bother to wash the meat properly, it had no flavour and the Rice and Peas was, I don’t even know what that was. The same goes for the Fried Chicken, no taste, unflavoured and unseasoned!

One and done. I was not impressed with the food I brought. I had the $16 curry goat, rice and peas, and plantains. The curry was not as flavorful as I expected; everything else was ok. The servers were just as bland; they were not inviting or engaging. The girls seemed like they didn’t want to be there. This restaurant had no pepper and didn’t even provide a fork with my napkin.

I’ve been going to this place since they first opened almost 15 years ago . The food is decent but the customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. The women that serve you your food are nasty and need to be trained how to treat the customers.

Best Fried fish at an affordable price…and is always my go to for fried fish but Jamaican people make it so hard to support their businesses. Attempted to order some fish meals (3 to be exact) on 9-28-24, my order was placed and then I received a return call from the manager/supervisor Sonya asking me what time I’m coming to pick up my meals. I said it’s usually 15 to 20 minutes so I’ll be there then, she says no, we have no fish prepared, then proceeds to tell me that I don’t know their procedure. Ma’am, I’m not arguing with anyone to spend my money. I’ve ordered this same meal from this same restaurant a million times for years. I said if that’s the case then you should be telling me what time I can pick up, why would you ask me what time I’m coming if you know you have no fish prepared…she then says she cannot give me a time because the Chef is busy preparing lunch and she doesn’t know what time he’ll be able to prepare the 3 meals for me…ummmnnn….yeah, just go ahead and cancel my order, because that makes absolutely no sense. I wish I could speak with the owner because Sonya ain’t ready for management or supervisory duties. It is very unfortunate, because I will never order from here again, just because of this 1 experience. I’ve even had them give away my food before and waited for them to prepare another 1 for me and the workers were not this incompetent or ignorant. Unbelievable!!! I am truly heartbroken…because again, this was my go to place for fried fish.
I don’t know if these people realize that if customers don’t come and order, they dont have a job….smdh

Horrible workers don’t go there if you don’t tip them. They will hate you and ignore you until they feel like serving you. The tall young light skin girl. Literally went there and the young girl watch the other lady serving without stepping in to serve me but once one of her friends came she acknowledged him by his name and serve him!!! Don’t waste your money here
