I used to love getting okra and gizzards from here. It used to be so crispy and the gizzards tender. I seen they had them back after not ordering for awhile due to them not having those specific items. I was so disappointed when it arrived. The okra was not remotely crispy although it was hot. It was instead sad and mushy. The potato wedges, Luke warm and well, mushy. Zero crisp. The gizzards were warm and crispy but very tough! Couldn’t bite them in many places and very hard to chew. Not even the biscuit was good considering it was uncooked and dough in spots. I wanted so badly the same quality I used to receive.

When I first started ordering Crunchy’s Chicken a few years ago, the food was solid. The chicken tasted good, the biscuits were on point, and even though it wasn’t the healthiest option, it was enjoyable and satisfying.
Recently, however, something changed with the chicken preparation. On a newer order, the chicken itself was infused with a liquid hot sauce or spicy mixture inside the meat. At first, I assumed it might have been a mistake, so I didn’t complain and gave them the benefit of the doubt.
I ordered again later, and the same thing happened.
In my opinion, this change completely ruins the chicken. Not everyone wants hot sauce infused inside the meat. Spice should be an option that can be added on the outside if you choose, not forced into the chicken by default. The original formula worked fine and didn’t need to be changed.
Because of this, I will no longer order from Crunchy’s Chicken. This review is strictly about the food, not customer service. The new preparation is disappointing and takes away from what used to be a good product.

Tucked away and super easy to miss if you’re not looking for it—but definitely worth finding. There’s no seating inside, so it’s more of a grab-and-go spot. Service was solid, everyone was friendly and efficient.
The focus here is simple: great chicken, great prices. That’s really what they do best. No frills, no gimmicks—just well-cooked, flavorful chicken and a few solid sides like mac & cheese, potato wedges, and drinks. The interior is pretty bare bones, but that’s kind of the point—they’re not trying to be anything fancy.
If you’re expecting a full dine-in experience, this isn’t the place. But if you’re after quality food without the extras, it totally delivers. And the consistently great reviews from others back that up too. Worth a stop if you’re nearby.

You know what they say… when the chef is brown the food won’t let you down.
Seasoned amazingly, super high quality. I can’t eat fried chicken more than once a month, but I’ve gone to this place twice in two weeks. Fantastic and I highly recommend it.

Very good fried chicken – if you are looking for the standard crispy (not nashville style chicken) – this is the place to go! I wish they would slightly reduce the salt in the seasoning but otherwise very good! And super cheap too. You can get like 4 pcs of chicken for like $10-11

This is the absolute best chicken in at least a 60 mile radius of Champaign, IL. The new owners have really brought the quality. The strips are big, the flavor is bigger. This is fantastic Cajun chicken. Not that fake Cajun where they just douse it in pepper and burn it. This actually has a well blended flavorful seasoning that honestly beats the Colonel’s 11, these guys must be using 14 or something. Their bone in chicken will have you questioning your existence in this world without Krispy Krunchy in your life. Their Fries are truly freedom fries, freedom from the bland fires you get everywhere else. And their honey mustard, honey please, if they sold this by the bottle I would liquidate my 401k and invest in honey mustard futures. What I’m saying is our lives were meaningless with out this in it. Thanks so much for the great service guys. I can’t wait till I pick up another bag of goodness.

Finally a place everyone in my family loves to eat and we are met with a welcoming and friendly face each visit! We have never waited more than 10ish minutes for the freshest chicken and sides in town! The red beans and rice and jambalaya are my husband’s fave while the potato wedges and mac and cheese are a hit with the kids. Generous portions, quick friendly service and a happy family – two thumbs up in my book! (Takeout only – no dine in)
