Stopped by for doughnuts, and the lobby was closed like it has been for years due to “short staff”. That’s not a deal breaker, got in line, ordered a dozen doughnuts and it was almost 25$. I thought, okay this isn’t great but it isn’t terrible. Krispy Kreme has always been a treat that is worth it. Not this time. When I got home I was surprised with the sorriest looking doughnuts I’ve ever seen. We will never return.

Isaac, one of the young employee who I have interacted with few times during evening is the Kindest and most hard working gentleman that I have seen!

He goes above and beyond not just for me but for each customers who walk into that Krispy Kreme store!

Natasha and faith are hard working and give excellent customer service as well!

Thank you to all three employees! Hopefully the manager knows that these employees isaac, gaby and faith make coming to krispy kreme a greater experience after hard day of work!

Keep up the good work!

My kiddo has been dying to try the Harry Potter doughnuts from KK. We were finally able to order them and go pick them up. We do not live in Kingsport so it’s not possible for us to get there early in the morning most of the time. I was off work, so I took advantage of that in order to get there early. We were taking them to share so we ordered two of the dozen specialty doughnuts. Both boxes came with 4 original glazed. The hot light was on when I went through the drivethru, so I was hopeful we would have some fresh glazed ones. One of the boxes we received had nice fresh doughnuts but the other box has older ones- like at least a day or two old. The taste was not the same at all. The fresh box was great, but the other ones were not fresh or tasy at all. We were there at 8am, so it wasn’t like we were late in the day getting them. The HP’s were the same. One box seemed to be fresh while the other seemed “less than”. Just dissapointing, especially considereing the amount they cost now.

Bought two large coffees and donut holes. The coffees were a little bitter but the holes were fresh, warm and yummy. Could have eaten them all but shared with the husband and pups. I also wish online ordering let us adjust the cream and sugar, it doesn’t. But overall great all around

4 stars for the most bizarre situation on black Friday. At about 3:40 PM we placed an app order for 1 dozen original, 10 count of dots, and a free cake doughnut which was a reward/promo in my online account. When we pulled around to the window to get our order, the employee told us they were out of original glazed until after 5 PM and would not have the cake doughnut until tomorrow. I certainly have never been employed here but have to question how does a doughnut store not have their number one seller available on one of the busiest high-traffic days (thousands of people out shopping)? Staff member was nice and offered to substitute for assorted doughnuts but we don’t like them/eat them and unfortunately we live over an hour away so we’re not here often. I requested a refund for the whole order and to substitute something else for the cake doughnut promo which I would have had to forfeit otherwise. They agreed to this which I’m thankful for. I requested a refund receipt and they had to print it off a computer which I didn’t realize that or I would not have bothered them with it. I guess I’m just leaving a review because I’m baffled that they didn’t have the main thing they’re known for having. This is a “me” problem but my toddler was in the back seat and was very disappointed that we had to drive away without the doughnuts so if this is something that happens often at this location I would advise calling ahead to make sure they have doughnuts ready. I would think that the app would have an option for management to turn off ordering in these cases? If not then corporate needs to make that an option because I can imagine it would be frustrating to have to refund online orders constantly.

This place is unfortunately the worst. I am tired of going in to get a cool dozen. You try to order one of their specials, that they advertise nationwide on TV and other advertisements, and they are out. So you ask for another donut and they are out of that. So you ask then what do you have and they say glazed. Really. Is that all. I give you 3 times on different days and times and all you have is glazed???!!! Go to Dunkin’ Donuts. That’s where I go from now on. At least they have what they advertise.

The day before I arrived at Krispy Kreme they had had a fire. They had about half of their normal donut menu. The older employee that was boxing our donuts apologized and was nice and maneraly. They didn’t have to be open at all, but yet still showed up and did what they could with what they had to work with! Two thumbs up!

In 33 years of living, every time I go to a Krispy Kreme or a Dunk n Donuts it’s the same thing. The donuts on display are made an hour in advance and just sit there waiting to be bought meaning they aren’t fresh. This Krispy Kreme has the single most genius approach I have every seen in my life. Right next to where you buy the donuts, there’s a window. Inside the window you can see the donuts being mass produced on a conveyor belt. First both sides of the donut go in the fryer, then they go through a stream of the white cream. Just watching everything in constant motion like this is beyond intriguing to me. If I wasn’t there to buy a donut, I would come just to watch the conveyor belt, it’s just that fascinating. I was SO impressed by the genius system this Krispy Kreme had in place, I requested to speak with the manager. After explaining who I am and what I do here, I mention I’m tempted to give this Krispy Kreme a 5 star review just because of the conveyor belt there for all to see. And that’s BEFORE trying their food. He gave me from the conveyor belt a free donut to try, and it was to die for. Needless to say, I’m majorly impressed. They’ve earned this 5 star review.

EDIT: Today is 2/28/24. A few weeks prior when I showed up wanting to buy donuts and take shelter from the rain, I was greeted with this message.

“Lobby is closed. Due to lack of staff. Please use Drive Thru. Sorry for the inconvenience.”

Now back to present day, it’s still there. So you’re short staff? Not the customer’s problem. Hire new staff! Or is this one of those case where somewhere needs staff, and either they don’t want to pay for more staff, or is very restrictive who they hire when THEY NEED STAFF? This isn’t the Covid-19 outbreak of 2020 anymore. You don’t get the excuse anymore. No other store in the area has staffing issues. It’s probably a case they don’t want to bother cleaning up after customers. And that REALLY stinks given you get to see the donut conveyor belt do it’s thing. I’m now forced to give you 3 out of 5 stars. No effort has been taken to get more staff. Obviously you aren’t hurting that badly from the lack of staff.

Smelled soured dough upon walking in. Staff wasn’t rude but wasn’t friendly either. They had cinnamon rolls in the counter but you weren’t allowed to buy them. Doughnuts had the texture of raw dough and the filled doughnuts were very light on the filing. My last trip to a Krispy Kreme…. they’re no longer the doughnut shop I grew up on
