Make it sweet and it was PERFECT! I ordered the Shrimp etouffee which was probably the best etouffee that I’ve had. Bursting with delicate flavor. I ordered the grits instead of rice and they were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the seafood gumbo and also loved it. She is a very light eater but devoured this dish!!! For dessert we shared a bread pudding with pecan sauce. OMG another winner. Sweet yet not too sweet. Even though it’s almost an hour travel time. I will return. Highly recommend this place!!!
Our last dine-in visit recently (on a Friday afternoon) was damn near perfect. The gentlemen at the bar/serving was friendly, attentive, and everything we ordered HIT! We were also the only diners which I personally love.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars (really it’s a 4.5) is sometimes there’s an odd smell in the space and it was randomly freezing at one point. But the service and food is top tier. ❤️
Service: 0-1
Went there today due to great reviews. Was hard to find parking but we were fortunate and found something close. It is a cozy spot, quaintly decorated. Went around dinner time.
Food: Ordered lentil soup, corn bread, fried grits, shrimp étouffée. The fried grits was great. The cornbread a bit bland and dry. Both entrees wasn’t bad, just ok. Was just under seasoned. Tasted better after WE added salt, pepper and butter (from cornbread order).
Service: it was non-existent. Waiter did not introduce himself (found out name was Claude from receipt). Barely greeted us. After bringing order did not speak to us again until we were finished and he asked were we done so that he could get our dishes. Did not ask if we needed anything or how we were enjoying our meal. Nothing. This lack of service was surprising to say the least..
All in all a disappointing experience especially since we had such high expectations.
