Food was absolutely delicious.
Service was a bit slow, but they were short staffed and the staff were doing their best to keep up.
Prices were exceptional and they had a great variety, a little something for everyone.

KP’S is an iconic landmark on this island. I have been ordering from or eating in KP’s since its beginning. I associate this restaurant with the evolution of the 80s and 90s when my son and I would order from or eat in every Friday night. It became our tradition, so much so that the nice older gentleman who took our orders over the phone would know our order before I gave it, lol. FAST FORWARD! I ordered take out this week and had a terrible experience. When I called to make the order, this woman said she could not hear me, so, like most normal people, I spoke louder. She told me to stop doing that; it didn’t help. I asked about desserts, and she listed some pies; then, I asked if they just had pies, and she said, in a nasty tone, “I told you what we have!” I almost canceled the order, but I didn’t. When I picked up the order, her attitude HAD NOT improved. She anticipated my question before I even asked it and told me she was the person who took my order (in an even nastier tone) and accused me of shouting at her! What? Am I in an alternate universe? Since I love this restaurant and have a history of eating here, this really disturbs me. Their burgers are my obsession! KPs has always been a 5-star restaurant until this incident.

If you find yourself pulling into KPs turn around and just go down the street. The server was beyond rude to the point we got up and left. Her attitude and demeanor was completely unacceptable, zero stars for me. Not to mention the menus were very simple as just a black and white sheet of paper yet they were covered in stains and sticky. The cost of paper is low enough I’d replace the nasty stained menus.

Great little locally owned restaurant. It’s not fine dining, but the atmosphere is comfortable with food that is a treat. We eat here at least once every time we are in town.

KP’s is awesome, great lil spot tucked away. I would never have gone if it weren’t for someone down at the wine shop’ recommendation. I had the Calypso Chicken sandwich. Tasty tasty tasty, great spices. It satisfied my hunger. The staff is awesome, super friendly and personable. You know, like normal people, lol. They’re great, the foods awesome, looking forward to go through their menu. I’m in that area twice a week, so I hope I could be there at least once a week. Check em out. They care about quality. Again that chicken was super tasty…

My husband had the south of the border sandwich. He thought it was ok-not the best flavored beef, and the server/kitchen forgot the horseradish sauce and that probably would have made it much more enjoyable. I had the shrimp tacos with mango salsa and they were very good. We split a piece of peanut butter pie which was quite decadent-a light flaky crust, creamy thick pie with yummy whipped cream. I personally don’t like nuts, so beware there are nuts on top of the pie. Sadly, the worst for us was the service. There were two servers, a party of 11, a few patrons at the bar and one other table. I sat on an empty tea the whole meal and my husband never had a chance to ask for the missing sauce. We will be in town a few days, so we may try here again. The food was well underpriced-$36 with tip. The meals came with delicious side salads with carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, and mixed greens.

The head waitress is the nastiest, rudest server I have ever experienced in any restaurant. Stay away and spend your money at a restaurant that understands they are in the ‘service’ business… not the ‘surly’ business. Read yelp reviews on KPs. You’ll see other rude service experiences.

I had the Bayou Mahi with green beans. And my wife had the crab stuffed Flounder and green beans. When I say it was delicious, oh my gawd. And price was decent. Family of 5, $100 including tip.

Jacob was the best server we have had, but to be honest they all have been terrific. We have ate at this local spot over a dozen times and every time we have we always leave soooooo HAPPY. Delicious food, WONDERFUL PRICES, and fast efficient friendly service. It is our favorite spot on the island.
