Once we all ordered, we enjoyed the appetizer bar they had. My favorite was the crab Rangoons. The grill did seem like it was low because it took forever to cook the chicken but everything tasted good.
The variety here is nothing short of overwhelming (in a good way). From a colorful selection of fresh veggies to an impressive array of meats and house-made sauces, there’s just no way to try everything in one visit, but that’s half the fun. You’ll want to come back for round two… or three.
One standout tip: don’t shy away from the beef tongue shavings. Seriously. They’re surprisingly delicious—better than the ribeye shavings, in my opinion, and a perfect example of why KPOT encourages exploration. The entire staff was attentive and helpful. For a hustling spot such as universal studios they managed to keep the train car rolling at full speed and never skipped a beat.
The experience is highly customizable. You choose your own meats and sides, and then cook them either in a bubbling pot of broth (with your selected spice base) or over the central grill at your table. Each method comes with its own price point, but both are well worth it. You’re given around two hours to dine, and while the food kept coming, our stomachs called it quits before the kitchen ever did. Trust me, you get your money’s worth.
The atmosphere is lively and colorful, transporting you into a vibrant Korean-inspired setting. It was anything but dull. My family shared plenty of laughs while cooking and experimenting together, making it just as much about the experience as the food itself.
KPOT is perfect for adventurous eaters and anyone looking to add some excitement to their dining routine. Whether you’re a seasoned KBBQ fan or a curious first-timer, this place delivers.
KPOT offers three AYCE dining options with a two-hour seating limit:
Hot Pot only
Korean BBQ only
Combo Hot Pot + Korean BBQ for an extra $5 per person
We chose the Korean BBQ only option.
Our first impression was positive — the restaurant was clean, spacious, and well laid out. However, even early in the evening when it wasn’t busy, we noticed the ventilation was lacking. As the restaurant filled up, this became much worse. It was almost comical that the vents were not directly above the BBQ grills, but slightly off-center, which clearly didn’t help with smoke control.
The menu selection was decent and portion sizes were fair, but the food quality was inconsistent. What really stood out was that our initial order placed through the waitress was noticeably better than the same items we ordered later through the iPad. We ordered the same cuts of beef multiple times, and the quality and taste varied significantly from plate to plate.
Our waitress, Margarita, was excellent. She was attentive, checked on us regularly, refilled our water, and changed the grill as needed. She genuinely tried her best. Unfortunately, the kitchen’s ability to consistently turn out quality food — both in speed and execution — was disappointing and beyond her control.
There is unlimited access to a hot bar and sauce bar. The hot bar options didn’t really pair well with Korean BBQ (for example, french fries), and the sauce bar felt much more tailored toward hot pot rather than BBQ.
The biggest turn-off of the night happened near the end of our meal. With about 30 minutes left, our waitress dropped off the bill and kindly reminded us of the remaining time, reassuring us there was no rush. We finished cooking our meats and waited on an order of green lettuce — which took about 15 minutes and a follow-up to arrive. After finishing our meal and grabbing ice cream, we waited another 10 minutes just to receive the payment machine.
Since we were about 45 minutes from our hotel, we decided to quickly use the washroom before leaving. Only a few minutes after paying, while I was in the bathroom, the manager came to our table and told my wife and child — without any greeting, introduction, or asking how our experience was — that we were over the seating limit and that they needed the table back and had to leave.
That lack of basic customer service and respect really put a damper on the end of the night. It’s the little things that customers remember most.
Overall, the food was decent and the value is there. However, with so many dining options nearby, I wouldn’t go out of my way to return unless everything else was full or I happened to be in the area. There’s definite room for improvement — better ventilation, more consistent food quality and kitchen speed, and improved management communication.
If you’ve never tried Korean BBQ or hot pot before, this could be a gentle introduction. But if you’re a seasoned foodie or familiar with Korean BBQ, I’d probably skip it.
Even though the restaurant was busy, she made sure our table had everything we needed and checked in at just the right moments without ever making us feel rushed. Her positive energy and professionalism really elevated the entire dining experience.
It’s clear she genuinely cares about providing great service, and it shows. Kallie made our visit memorable, and we will definitely be coming back. If you visit KPot, you’re lucky if you get her as your server!
Thank you again, Kallie, for such a great experience.
We paid for BBQ and Hot Pot and the BBQ was inedible. After 3 grill changes there was still black char from previous uses (these were said to be new grills by the restaurant) Our server came to us after the 4th grill having this issue she told us that her manager said it just happens because of the Pork Belly and the type of grill they use. I’ve been to kbbq probably a few hundred times throughout the years and never had this issue anywhere.
The photo of the napkin is the one our server used to wipe the grill to see if they would turn black.
We get the bill and the BBQ is still charged. I never am the type to speak up unless I truly feel like the service/food is not acceptable because things happen but this was after multiple grill changes and the manager did not come over to apologize for the inconvenience or offer to take the bbq off the bill after we communicated to our server the meat was inedible on multiple occasions.
On top of that, our server would see other tables multiple times and then only come back to us a couple of times and seemed annoyed with our presence despite my efforts to keep things light hearted. I personally felt unwelcome and what was supposed to be a good dinner with my partner and I just ended with the both of us being unhappy and felt like our money was wasted. She took so long to come back my partners noodles were nearly dry because the broth was literally gone.
The service has slowly gotten worse overtime.
The bill was almost $100 for inedible food, service that was barely there and for the manager to half heartedly apologize for the dirty grills and even suggested us cleaning it with an onion next time we try to order pork belly. I tried looking for his name tag but he wasn’t wearing one but he worked Thursday night during the 9pm shift on 11/13/25
No additional efforts were made to make the situation any better and all efforts were initiated by us, the customer.
The manager even mentioned that “he wasn’t going to make us pay for the bbq if we didn’t want to” to my face but never took the initive to make it right only waited for us to walk up to them pardon their hang out at the front and ask.
If you have a similar experience here just know that you will have to advocate for yourself because there seems to be no integrity to their business or for the people that spend their hard earned money there.
Most of their positive reviews come from competitions they have to which they tell ther servers they can get a bonus, giftcard or some reward if they get the most reviews that mention their name. This was the reason I left my first review over 9 months ago because the service was great then and I loved my server but yeah idk what tonight was. Just disappointing and both my partner and I learned we would not be coming back.
