The food was also incredible. We did the combo hot pot and grill and both included the sauce bar. You can order as much as you want for the price of the setup you get (either the grill or soup). You do cook your own food, but the experience is truly one to have. I got the Korean seafood base, which was rather fishy, while my friend got the miso. The add ins for the soup were really good! Vegetables and meats.
These folks really know how to make your feel welcome. Everyone had good recommendations and was very friendly. Drinks at the bar while waiting for your table is a must. Garlic Pork Belly and Beef Bulgogi are must orders. Sauce buffet and other side available. $100 for a nice dinner for 2.
I opted for the full experience—Korean BBQ and hot pot together—which is a bit pricier, but worth it if you’re curious and want variety. The menu includes a wide range of meats, seafood, vegetables, and tofu, all brought to the table raw for you to grill or simmer yourself. The brisket and pork belly were solid picks, and the broth bar had a nice selection. That said, most of the proteins come unseasoned, so the flavor really depends on the broth you choose and how you mix your sauces. Fortunately, the sauce station is stocked with enough options to balance that out.
Service was attentive and helpful, especially for first-timers. The staff took time to explain the setup, and dishes came out quickly after ordering. The only downside is that during peak dinner hours, the sauce bar can get a bit crowded, and you’ll probably be managing your own food most of the time. Still, it’s part of the experience.
Overall, KPOT is less about high-end flavors and more about the process—cooking at your table, trying new combinations, and enjoying a slower, more social meal. It’s not a quick dinner, but if you come hungry and with good company, it’s a worthwhile way to spend an hour or so.
Our server, Drew, was incredibly helpful with explaining the process to my table as we were new to this kind of restaurant, and he was eager to assist with anything we needed, such as switching out the grill and explaining different menu items.
I greatly recommend the short rib from their BBQ menu, then from their hot pot menu I loved their gyoza and, uniquely, their lettuce!
At lunch, the selection is more limited, and unfortunately, the meat quality reflects the lower price. The cuts are thinner, less marbled, and overall not as flavorful. While it’s a budget-friendly option, diners expecting the same quality as dinner may be disappointed.
Dinner, on the other hand, offers a much better experience. The meats are noticeably higher in quality, with options that are not available during lunch. If you’re looking for the full KPOT experience, it’s worth paying the extra for dinner.
Service can be hit or miss, depending on how busy they are. We didn’t have to wait either time we’ve been here but just know depending on what time you go, you may have a wait. If you’re visiting, just be mindful that lunch is a more affordable but lower-quality option compared to dinner. We’d give lunch 3 stars & dinner 4 stars. We wouldn’t recommend lunch at all unless you only want hot pot. Dinner is worth the extra $ to have decent meat. Both times we were there, the egg rolls had ran out on the little buffet they have & still hadn’t been refilled when we left.
Other KPot locations we’ve been to across the country have been better and other Korean barbecue restaurants we’ve tried over the years have been much more impressive than KPot BUT it’s a new addition to Fort Smith, which is always a plus.
