Things got off to a rocky start: We ordered hot pot and the sever mixed up the flavors. We only noticed after trying them and at that point had already committed to putting our ingredients in the soup base. There’s lots of signage around about wasted food fee’s so we just kinda ate opposite meals until the pots were empty again.
Ordering proteins and veggies was just okay. Sometimes you get alot of something and other times a very small amount. Tofu was treated like gold coming out of the kitchen and we only got 4 peices per order. Other items came out by the plate full! About 1/3 of our orders where never brought out. The ingredients are all good quality, but you have to order from a sticky tablet that looks like it hasnt been cleaned and feels pretty dirty. This just gives alot of “ick” and really became off-putting.
The bubble tea is pre-made. We asked for less brown sugar in ours and the waiter suggested adding water because they just pour it out of a container into the glass.
The food is fine but the service and cleanliness really brought the experience down for us.
However, this experience left me feeling a complete lack of transparency, and friendliness alone can’t make up for that.
I later found out they are doing dinner all day, every day for the week. I was told there is a small sign out front that sometimes gets missed. That was frustrating because I specifically avoided ordering from the dinner menu. When I left, I noticed there was no sign at the main indoor entrance, and only one of the two outdoor side entrances had a small sheet mentioning this. On top of that, nothing was said by the hostess or the waitress to inform me. There also could have easily been a sign at the tables or a note on the menus, but there wasn’t. The website also did not demonstrate this.
This is where the transparency issue really stands out. If a family of four came in under the same circumstances for lunch, they could easily spend almost $50 more than expected. In today’s economy, that’s a big deal, people budget carefully when they go out to eat.
Is the food good? Yes. Are the people nice? Absolutely. But this situation felt not transparent at all and honestly a bit like being taken advantage of.
So just a heads-up, if you’re planning to go this week, it’s dinner pricing all day, even if you don’t see a sign or aren’t told when you’re seated. The photo is the right outside entrance that I used, that lacks notification.
Our party consisted of two adults and three children. Before being seated, we confirmed this with the staff. Our oldest child was correctly counted as an adult, our 10-year-old was charged as a child, and our youngest was free.
However, when we reviewed our receipt after paying, we discovered we were charged for four adults and one child. This resulted in an extra $40 that was added to our bill. We immediately brought this to the server’s attention, and the manager came over. We were told that nothing could be done because it was “restaurant policy” that no changes could be made once seated.
It was extremely frustrating to be charged $40.00 especially after confirming our party details ahead of time. Being told that the mistake could not be corrected left us feeling taken advantage of and unheard as customers.
We understand that policies are in place for a reason, but refusing to correct a clear billing error left a very poor impression. As first-time guests, this experience was disappointing and overshadowed what could have been a great visit.
