I visited Roanoke’s KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot on a Saturday at noon for my birthday, alongside my parents. This restaurant is in one of the satellite buildings near the Valley View Mall. Parking is available at the restaurant, but more is just a short walk away near the mall. The restaurant opens right at noon. I entered shortly before noon and was among the first to be seated. Guests who order the all you can eat hot pot/BBQ have a 2 hour time limit at their table.
Antonio, our server, was exceedingly helpful and patient. He explained the whole hot pot/BBQ process clearly to my parents, who had never experienced this type of dining. He also welcomed questions about the process. He regularly visited our table and asked if we wanted to order more food, as “all you can eat” ingredients were included in the price of our meal.
I do not eat gluten. The menu clearly identified what was gluten free. Antonio regularly checked on us and changed our tabletop grill between courses, which allowed me to cook veggies and meat without contamination–as I don’t eat meat.
In total, this was a fun, and immersive, birthday experience.

Okay I was skeptical at first, I was worried the food would make me sick or that I’d get too full to quickly before I could really try enough food to get my money worth or that the food would taste cheap since it’s all you can eat. However, this is a new favorite dining location!!!!!! None of the above were true and I absolutely loved the concept! It is truly all you can eat and the portions are small so that you can make sure you can finish what you oder to avoid the $13 fee for ordering way more than you can eat. Loved all ready sauce options. The dessert option were few and not too flavorful:( but it included individual Hersheys ice creams so I was content. the vegetable options we ordered were all very fresh and clean. I highly recommend the garlic shrimp, any and all the steak options, and lamb! Salmon was okay but I didn’t love the spicy sauce already on it. I recommend getting the sweet & spicy sauce and putting that on yourself!
Another highlight was our server! So incredibly kind and really took the time to show us how to order and describe items and even tell us his personal favorites. I’m a server myself and can say he did a 10/10 job! I wish I had caught his name but my boyfriend and I sat at seat D3(if the tablet was correct) on 10/09/25.
The atmosphere was very contemporary but clean since the lights are dim it was more relaxing. Additionally, the bathrooms were very clean and tidy!
Oh and one more quick tip we just learned . . the grill automatically turns off after 1 hour just as a safety precaution. Sooo yeah you may have to ask for it to be turned back on if you are there longer!
We will be returning!

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was cozy and perfect for a relaxing meal.
A special shoutout to our server, Frank, who truly made the evening exceptional. He was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He checked in at just the right times and gave great recommendations. His positive attitude and professionalism really stood out.
Service was quick, and everything we ordered exceeded expectations. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience!

If you have never been to kpot you’re missing out! This location is particular is amazing because it has these private rooms that are so much fun for dinner with friends! I love going with large groups of people and establishing grill masters who sit by the grills and cook the Korean barbecue the whole time
I also love all the sauce options, I think this location has more because it’s the biggest one I have ever been to. The servers are also all so sweet and funny and the food comes so fast.

First time going here and it was really great. Our server, Carly, made us feel welcome for our first time, explained everything as simplely as you would ask for, and the her attentiveness to making sure we had a clean grill was so nice.
The food was great. You can tell it isn’t store-bought by the texture, this is GOOD meat and the price reflects that.
100% coming back in the future. Totally worth it, wasn’t intimidating at all, and the service is top notch. Recommend it entirely.

KPOT has so much potential to be great, but it’s barely mediocre. This is probably the most helpful review the owners will never pay attention to. The concept is fantastic, built to be an experience, and although a bit pricey if the food and experience lived up to its potential, it would’ve been worth it. Instead, drink included I paid $50 for lunch on a Sunday only to have servers that were not patient to explain options to me, food that was OK at best, and cold appetizers in the hot appetizer bar. An experience based place like K-pop needs to teach its people to be patient and make it a wonderful experience for customers…. This is a restaurant where the service is going to make or break it. Walking customers through the options, explaining the differences and the different meats suggesting different sauces and mixes of sauces to cook with, and showing them in detail how to use the utensils or even organize their table would go so far. In addition to that, regardless of what I ordered on the menu, they brought me what they wanted…. For example, I’d order the two piece short ribs, and they’d bring me one. I’m all for self service, but it was entirely left up to me to figure everything out even though I told them this was my first time there. I won’t be back, which means I also won’t be holding my company parties there, meeting friends there, or celebrating family occasion there. Owners- if you read this take 15 minutes to watch Will Guidara’s Ted Talk on great hospitality. It could save your business.

This was a good experience, and I enjoyed the food. You have a variety of food options. Our server, Hannah, was wonderful. She was very patient with our first time dining, and she checked on us frequently. The only downside is that you have to order several times because the quantity of the food isn’t much. So if you have a group of more than 2 people..be aware of that.

I’ve been in a couple of times recently, once when my son took me out for my birthday and once on my own for an early dinner. Both times, Emma was the server. Emma was great – attentive and helpful without being overbearing, quick to grab dishes and offer refills. I find every employee I’ve interacted with has been wonderful – helpful, kind, and professional! The food is delicious, from the sauce/sides bar to the hot pot to the KBBQ. I’m sure I’ll be back soon.

Jacob was out waiter tonight, he was amazing and very attentive to the table and our needs. He was not over attentive but just the right amount of checking in for needs to be met. Very personable and friendly, also good sense of humor. Will come back again just to see him.
