I’ve been coming here for the 2nd time (last week) with friends after wacthing dancing classes in the next door. This time we ate very light dinner before attending the performance at that night. I like their Chef Special Menu. Tornado Roll is a must, the 2nd best in the menu is Garlic Shrimp Roll (just trying this menu is yummy ).

I was denied entry today while trying to place a takeout order because I had my service dog with me. A waitress stopped me at the door and refused entry, even after I explained that my dog is a service animal and that I was not dining in.
No ADA-permitted questions were asked, no manager was involved, and the interaction was rude and dismissive. This is also not the first time I’ve had this issue with the same employee.
Service animals are legally allowed under the ADA, including for takeout orders. This situation was unnecessary and disappointing. I hope staff receive proper training.

Don’t judge from the outside, it’s a great little spot! Very creative menu. Udon and special rolls were excellent.

Came here because it was the only “Japanese” restaurant in Aliso Viejo that had ramen on the menu. With a 4+ rating I figured it couldn’t be bad. WRONG. We walked into a half full restaurant with no wait, apparently. After waiting a while, we were told to sign the wait list.. with literally nobody stand in front of us. I think it was to just kill time as they walked around without any purpose.
We were finally seated and it took an eternity to get a menu. I had to ring the little service bell on the table to get someone to take our order. The ramen finally came, and lets just say you could make a better ramen in your kitchen in half the time. The noodles were still clumped together like it came out of the frozen package. Broth bland. Two pieces of “Tonkatsu” were deli meat slivers. The egg was hard boiled. This is pretty much what you get from a non-Japanese owned Japanese restaurant.
I ordered a sushi roll too.. let’s not get started on that. Go somewhere else. If you want good Japanese food, this place is not it.
