Social Profile:

Hello, My name is Homer Fulton, Jr. I am the proprietor of Kountry Cookin’ Soul Food Restaurant located in the heart of Whitehaven. Before I tell you about the birth of Kountry Cookin’, let me tell you a little about myself. I consider myself as a visionary entrepreneur, if I can believe it I will achieve it. I am a man of faith. I was raised by my mother, a single parent. She raised 10 children by herself with the help of God, you can say that’s where I got my fortitude from. Growing up as a teenager, I always found ways to make money; cutting grass, selling drink bottles and copper, worked in a grocery store, Fred’s dollar store, chopped and picked cotton.

Pork chops, fried catfish & other Southern classics served in an unpretentious setting.

I wish I could give 0 stars. This food was soooo freaking nasty! $32 down the drain nothing had flavor all I tasted was black pepper and the green beans was ok only because some onion and red chili flakes was added but other than that it was straight CAN! My fiance ordered a veggie plate and that was horrible. I will never be back to try anything else. I went off all the good reviews but neverrrrrrr again.

I had it delivered. Overall the food was well-flavored. I had the turkey wings flat. It was tasty but not the most tender. I also had veggies that were tasty along with the ribs. The sauce was yummy and the ribs tender.

A hidden gem in Memphis!
Delicious homemade food that truly reminds you of mom’s cooking. Cozy, clean atmosphere and super friendly service — our waitress was incredibly sweet (wish I had asked her name!). If you’re nearby and looking for high-quality comfort food, this is the place to go.

Stopped there for lunch after visiting Graceland. What a find, incredibly delicious soul food home cooking. Long line confirmed for us that the food was going to be good. While the restaurant was very hot inside, the great food and warm hospitality from all the staff made it worthwhile.

This place has got to be some of the best food I’ve ever had. I just came from New Orleans, passing through, and we had all kinds of amazing food down there, but I have to say Kountry Cookin is up there with the best. We had been here once before on a trip and I made sure we stopped by again when we passed through. Those smothered pork chops can be cut with a spoon, those cakes are so moist and delicious, the peach cobbler would make a nun blush. Everything is delicious, if you see this and you are going to Graceland, you had better come eat here, as you will get average food there, but if you want the real thing? Come here! Elvis would be eating here, because he knew good cooking! This place is a gem and I’ll be stopping by every single time I’m in town! Delicious! I can’t wait to come back!

I usually enjoy my experience. Today was Terrible!! The bake chicken breast was over cooked. The greens tasted like vinegar. The peach cobbler had big pieces of peaches and the crust/filling had no flavor. The ONLY thing that great was tge macaroni and cheese. Better than ever.
It appears that the normal cooks didn’t cook today.
I really wasted my money today.

Good was really good and cheap.

Edit with meatloaf review. The most nastiest meatloaf I ever tasted in my life. Will never purchase that again. Mac and cheese was nasty as well. Didn’t taste home made. This the only bad experience I’ve had here.

I was on vacation and visiting the Graceland Mansion. We wanted an authentic southern dining experience and found reviews for this restaurant. It did not disappoint. Other’s described as cooking like a family member would serve and this was exactly what we thought too. We entered and got in line that leads to the counter. Different main dishes are changed each day. I picked smothered pork chops and my husband got a fried breaded chop. Our sides were yams, greens, macaroni and beans. We loved the sides. The gravy on my chop was too die for. The cornbread muffins were heavy and dense, flavorful.
I would definitely recommend. The seating is basic. The restaurant was full of locals, and families that looked to be regulars. The staff was very nice and welcoming.
